Kyle Busch is going to have a very busy off-season. Later this year, Busch is expected to compete in the annual Snowball Derby. This will not be the first time he is competing in the iconic Late Model Stock Car race as the 2-time NASCAR Cup Series champion has triumphed twice, in 2009 and 2017. Now, the veteran NASCAR driver will be hoping to make it win number 3 and end his miserable season on a high note.

Of course, the path to the Snowball Derby victory will be fraught with challenges. There are many drivers who are far more experienced on dirt surfaces, who could give him a tough fight. In addition to them, Busch will also have to contend against some of his fellow Cup drivers who may be participating as well.

However, his racing priorities will be a little disruptive of his holiday plans. This is because his family will be away from home this Thanksgiving. According to him, he and his family will be doing a bunch of traveling for the remainder of 2024, and his first destination is California. However, despite not being in his hometown for Thanksgiving, Busch opens up on his role during the festivities.

Kyle Busch confessed that he isn’t exactly MasterChef material

Much like any American family, Kyle Busch and his family love celebrating Thanksgiving. However, by his admittance, he is not the best person in the kitchen. His culinary knowledge only extends as far as making Mac and Cheese, which isn’t the cornerstone of a Thanksgiving dinner. However, Busch has his way of contributing to the dinner table.

When asked if he could be trusted with the cooking duties during Thanksgiving he told Dirty Mo Media’s Andrew Kurland, “Mac and cheese?”

“I’m typically helping set up. So I’m doing tables and chairs, decor and silverware. Forks on the left or on the right?” He asked Kurkland. To which Kurland replied, “On the left?

With a wry smile on his face, Busch said, “He guessed. He’s not the guy that sets up either!

Busch clarified the silverware setup, saying, “Yeah! Forks go on the left. You go small fork, big fork, plate, then you go knife and then you go spoon. Then you go dessert spoon up top.”

Andrew admitted that his setup was quite confusing and suggested to Busch that he may need to mature some more, to which Busch replied, “More culture.”

The best way in which he can contribute is by helping set up for the Thanksgiving feast. His dining table etiquette seems to be on point, however his culinary skills leave a lot to be desired. Regardless, Busch will look to use this festive season to put behind what was the worst cup series performance of his career.

To be completely honest, Kyle Busch can sum up his 2024 season in four words, ‘What Could Have Been.’ The Richard Childress Racing car is not exactly very competitive compared to many of its rival teams. However, Busch has often dragged his #8 Chevrolet up to fairly high positions. During the regular season, he lost out on a victory on three different occasions, including an epic 3-wide photo finish in Atlanta early in the season. “I hate that we had a Lightning McQueen-style finish there,” said Busch after the race, referencing the classic Pixar film ‘Cars’.

Owing to his inability to reach Victory Lane, Kyle Busch endured a winless season for the first time in his career. The immediate consequence was that he failed to reach the Playoffs. It only got worse from then on out, and it got harder and harder to win a Cup race and keep the streak going.

Now, the 39-year-old will be keen to turn things around when 2025 begins. The road will be tough, but Busch has proven that he is talented and capable enough to be up to the task. However, the onus is on Richard Childress Racing to deliver a Cup car that can win races consistently. Do you think a comeback is on the horizon for ‘Rowdy’?
