Recently, former NASCAR driver Boris Said spoke to Dale Earnhardt Jr. on his podcast. The 59-year-old spoke on a variety of subjects, which also included his interactions with Dale Earnhardt Sr. One of them was a truly hilarious story about an awkward exchange between the two of them, at least from Said’s perspective.

He said, “It’s just me and your dad staring at each other in the hall. I’m thinking, ‘say something cool. Come up with something cool’… Then your dad goes, ‘Hey Said! You want anything to eat’. I’m like, ‘Yeah, make me a peanut butter sandwich and cut the crust off and hurry it up’. Like, just joking right? And he didn’t say a word, and I’m like ‘Oh my God! I just pissed him off’. If there was a door on the front of the hall, I would have left. It felt like an hour I was sitting there.”

What happened after that moment with Dale Earnhardt?
Said was so terrified that waiting for Dale Sr. felt like hours. To his immense surprise, the ‘Intimidator’ actually returned with a peanut butter sandwich for him. Then, as if he hadn’t dug his grave any deeper, Boris Said pointed out that he hadn’t cut the crusts, as he had asked for. At that moment, Dale Earnhardt unleashed his sassy side when he declared that the crust made Said’s hair curly.
As per his testimony, he did not want to ruin his friend’s look. Later on, as they spent time together eating peanut butter sandwiches, the ice broke between them. Dale Sr. even suggested that Boris Said wear a hat, but the other driver proved that he could give back, as well as take sass.
