Can the victory that Denny Hamlin achieved on the tracks of Tricky Triangle be termed an emphatic victory that is hard-earned or another controversial win that will remain unresolved for ages to come? Many might agree that there was no foul play that went into action, and Hamlin earned that win, but for others, it was earned at the cost of wrecking Kyle Larson.

Nevertheless, there is no denying the fact that the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers put on a stellar show, as all four drivers went on to seize a place within the top 10. While Ty Gibbs made a rebound and earned a top 5 finish a year after making his debut on the same track, Denny Hamlin’s victory, on the contrary, is assuredly the talk of the fans, as fans bashed the driver and mired him in boos.

However, it seems that Hamlin has a different perspective on looking at his criticism and not getting disheartened by it.

Denny Hamlin applies a different approach to looking at his comments on Instagram

It is a known fact that a victory was long awaited for Denny Hamlin after he was disqualified from the race at Pocono last year, and all his efforts went into winning his seventh title and surpassing the records of Jeff Gordon. The driver can surely be credited for exhibiting a brave show with a fast car, impeccable strategies, and capitalizing on opportunities, but his 50th win does leave some loose ends.

Whether the No. 11 Toyota driver really shoved Kyle Larson or was it the aerodynamics of the car at work is a debate for a later time, but Hamlin does believe that he is not to blame for the on-track woes of Kyle Larson. In the post-race interview, Hamlin expressed, I’m not here to defend anything. How can you wreck someone you don’t touch?”

He also added, “I had to race hard for a win. Was I going to let off and give him all this extra room? Absolutely not. No way. I wanted to race side by side because I earned the spot of getting beside him.”

Although the driver may have justified his win and the fact that he earned the win, it was the fans who were far from convinced, as they hurled their criticism and bashed the driver for his conduct. They even went to the extent of flipping the bird as the driver crossed the start-finish line.

This was evident in the carousel pictures that Denny Hamlin posted on his Instagram profile. The pictures that he posted on his account exposed the fans, flipping the bird as the car took the chequered. However, instead of getting angry and heaving his displeasure, the driver took a different perspective to approach the pictures. He wrote under the post, “Thanks for the love, Pocono. Lots of 11s out there.”

This expression surely cracked up the fans as well as IndyCar driver Marco Andretti. The IndyCar driver had added a string of laughing emoticons as a comment under the post.

While others wrote, “You should have bowed like Kyle Busch Whether they’re cheering or booing, they’re still talking about you.”

“Should have posted pics of the fans wearing 11. They were taking the heat, but at least this time we were winners!!! Go Denny Go!!”

The action shown by the fans is surely not justified, nonetheless, this action is far from simmering down and bugs the minds of the drivers and fans alike. Nevertheless, with the next race at Richmond, it is to be seen whether Hamlin will be able to achieve another feat and stay a step ahead in the Playoffs.
