A sport like NASCAR loves a good winter break away from the bustling V8s, spending quality time with family. Even our favorite racing drivers have grand plans for the festive season, with some opting to spend the time laid-back at home and others choosing to participate in events such as the annual Snowball Derby to send off the Super Late-Model cars with a bang. But with the on-track action entering hibernation for winter, the community got some great gifting ideas from Dale Earnhardt Jr’s #3 Chevrolet Sun Drop Plushie release.

But that’s not all the NASCAR community has in store for them. The title sponsor of the sport’s Truck series shared the perfect Christmas present idea with the community for those feeling a little chilly!

NASCAR also reposted Craftsman’s post on their Instagram story, asking fans how Hocevar’s holiday spirit looked. But the star of the show was the bright red sweater, featuring a simple 8-bit design with small Christmas trees and a quote, ‘making a list, checking it twice, cutting it once.’ In case some fans find the price tag of $79.99 pretty steep, there are other options available ranging from $49.99 for the Pajama pants to $14.99 for the baby onesie. The collection is available on the Craftsman website, but will only remain till stocks last!

The name Craftsman itself is synonymous with NASCAR and has been for years. From 1995 to 2008, Craftsman was the title sponsor for the Truck Series and was responsible for a lot of the equipment used by the top teams in their garages. It’s safe to say that their Christmas gift collection consists of everything a motorsport-loving family could ever dream of! However, it’s not just their sponsorship name and adorable clothing that makes Craftsman such a well-respected brand amongst NASCAR mechanics and crew chiefs. There’s a lot more that goes into creating the best quality tools that could make a difference when it truly matters.

The Craftsman tools are a crew chief’s best friend

What’s the difference, you ask? The man who found out in the most unfortunate way possible was the crew chief of the #16 Craftsman truck driven by Tyler Ankrum. Dough Randolph was an ambitious young gun looking for his big break when he finally got the opportunity to work for the legendary car owner Junior Johnson! But the biggest difficulty faced by the crafty mechanic while working on Johnson’s cars was his tools.

While a good worker never blames his tools, the sheer quality and efficiency of the Craftsman’s tools over Randolph’s older ones stood out immediately when the brand entered NASCAR. He shared in a Craftsman Blog,

“As part of that partnership, Craftsman had a tool truck that visited every NASCAR shop weekly. This made it so much easier to acquire every tool I would need for my trade.”

Falling in love with his trade all over again thanks to his new toolset obsession, Randolph amassed an elegant collection over the years. Even when a tool failed him, the Craftsman team would have it sorted out. But tragedy struck the crew chief’s garage, where he built exhausts and headers for racing teams. All his prized possessions in that garage went up in flames, including the toolbox. But what happened next surprised even the tenured technician.

He shared

, “Unfortunately, that building caught fire one night; almost everything including my Craftsman toolbox and the tools inside I thought were a total loss. The next day as we examined the rubble, I found that Craftsman toolbox. The outside was burned, blistered, and a twisted mess. However, when I opened the drawers, to my surprise, most of the tools were still intact. After a good cleaning, I still use those same tools some 30 years later around my home and garage.”READ MORE: “I Take Full Blame”: Noah Gragson Messes Major Comeback Shattering Whole Field & William Byron’s Snowball Dream
