Livid Kyle Busch Sends Harsh 5-Word Message to Richard Childress in Expletive-Laden Rant, Moments Before Recreating a “Talladega Nights” Scene

One of the most shocking revelations of 2022 was Kyle Busch’s move away from Joe Gibbs Racing after 15 successful years. As Busch left Joe Gibbs’ team to join that of Richard Childress, hopes were that he would bring himself and the team back to championship-winning ways. But as we enter the climax of the season, such an outcome looks unlikely.

The fresh partnership has been facing issues in one form or the other since the onset of the season. Moreover, the troubles at the #8 garage at RCR got further highlighted after the debacle at the Texas Motor Speedway last weekend.

Richard Childress’s new driver puts on a show of words to his No.8 crew

Going to Texas, Kyle Busch already had 3 wins in the ongoing season and was going steady in the contest despite the occasional issues that he had with his crew. But with just 2 top-10 finishes coming in his last 7 appearances before Texas, he went to the Wild West hoping to make a strong statement of his threat to contenders. But what followed was a fate similar to the one he had in Michigan and Indianapolis earlier in the year.

Starting 7th in the 36-car grid, Busch spun through Turns 1 and 2 in the first stage of the race. His Chevy crashed into the retaining wall and sustained rear damage that did not allow him to continue further than lap 74. Before the events unfolded, Busch could be heard informing his crew about something not being right with the car. As revealed on NASCAR’s Radioactive series, he radioed, “Now I don’t ***** know. It does not feel right. I swear, I just need to ***** stop trying and just ***** ride around.” As his spotter instructed him to “stay in the gas,” Busch’s car spun and turned the day down.

Despite the wreck, Busch did not see it as enough action for one day. Pulling a move out of Hollywood, he brought the car to his crew’s attention in some fashion.

After the crash with the retaining wall, Busch had to drive his car back to the pit. Facing the wrong direction, he decided to go around the track in reverse instead of steering right, and recreated the scene from the 2006 film, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The lead character in the movie, played by Will Ferrell, does so in one of the scenes to win a particular race. However, Busch had done so to get himself off the track during the caution. Reaching his pit stall, his Chevy did not meet NASCAR’s damaged vehicle policy and was given a P34 finish.

Expressing his frustration at the result, Busch said after the race, “Seems like every time I try, something happens. I crash or whatever. Right there, I just said it two laps before that, that I got up in the high side, and I was like, ‘You know what, I just need to just stop and just run the bottom, just make laps here, finish this stage.’ And it swaps ends on me. So I don’t know what to do. Somebody wants to tell me what to do, I’m all ears.”

Despite the poor finish, Busch still stands all the chance to get into the round of 8. The upcoming at Talladega would provide one such opportunity. Driving one of the fastest cars in the field, he could potentially grab the checkered flag if luck favors him on the day. Moreover, he had done so in this same car earlier this year. All eyes will be on his Chevy next weekend as he tries to cast the same spell again.
