“Like Earnhardt” – Pat McAfee & Sporting World Left Shell-Shocked at NASCAR Star Ross Chastain’s Move of the Century

Following the NASCAR Cup race at the Martinsville Speedway Christopher Bell won the race. In the process, he was able to seal his Championship 4 berth. However, it was Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain who grabbed all the headlines. On the final lap of the race, he performed a spectacular wall ride while running in 10th place.

Owing to that stunt, he somehow managed to leapfrog several drivers to finish the race in 5th place. The fifth place finish was enough to see him sneak into the Championship 4. So, he joins Joey Logano, Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell for the showdown at Phoenix. Coming back to the Martinsville race though, his stunt set the internet on fire, even catching the attention of non-NASCAR entities.

How did the non-NASCAR world react to the Ross Chastain wall ride?

Honestly speaking, a number of people practically lost their collective minds. WTF1’s Matt Gallagher confessed that the F1 race at Mexico was a snoozefest, but the NASCAR race was anything but. Meanwhile, some others acknowledged that they did not know much about NASCAR, but the move itself was insane. IndyCar drivers Alexander Rossi and Tony Kanaan also admitted that they were definitely going to follow Chastain on Twitter.

ESPN’s Ryan McGee also said, “Everyone all the time: “I need some more hammer-down passion out of these guys like Earnhardt would’ve done!” Also, them after Ross Chastain’s wall-riding move that got him into the NASCARPlayoffs Championship 4: “There oughta be rules against that stuff!”. Fellow ESPN pundit Marty Smith also revealed that Chastain used to do this in video games.

Finally, the likes of Pat McAfee debated whether the move was actually real. One thing is for sure, the move definitely worked in Chastain’s favor and he now finds himself in the Championship 4. There may have been a lot of debate between his rivals, with some praising him and others condemning him, but it produced handsome results.
