The 23XI Racing driver, Bubba Wallace, is making headlines once again. This time he’s in the news with some opportunities knocking him to show his skills at this season’s playoffs.
Recently, the 23XI Racing team announced that Wallace will switch cars numbers and will take on #45 on behalf of the team for the remaining 10 races to run in the playoffs for the owner’s championship. Also, the crew chief and sponsors will also move with Wallace to the new car. Whereas, Ty Gibbs and crew will shift to #23 Toyota.

In a recent TV program, the Roush Fenway Racing driver, Brad Keselowski, talked about the move 23XI made. He stated, “I didn’t see this one coming but I love it. I think this is a really smart move guys.”
Being a driver and an owner of RFK Racing, Brad really thought this was a move, which can uplift them in the remaining races.
To this he also added, “really want this is a team saying, hey we want to get the most we can get out of at least one car. We had some bad fortune with Kurt getting injured, but you know you’ve got one car in the playoffs let’s maximize that let’s see what the best we can do. Let’s put a little bit of pressure on Bubba Wallace, he’s our long term driver, we just resigned him to a contract let’s see how he responds to it in this opportunity.”

Although, it’s no surprise that Kurt Busch is out of the playoffs for the time being but his car #45 isn’t. This #45 Toyota is still clear for the owner’s championship in the playoffs and the #23 car isn’t. So instead of giving the car to the young Ty Gibbs, the team decided to give the #45 car to Bubba Wallace, a more experienced one.
Currently, in the owner’s standings, the 23XI Racing team’s car is at 12th. Just 33 points behind the table leader Hendrick Motorsports #9.
