Rodney Childers had posted a picture of him and Junior after the race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The track was revived and renovated after efforts made by Junior and his friends.
The once dilapidated short track was brought back up to standards initially for just an iRacing scan. But later on, it was decided to use it as a race venue for late-model stock car racing. Finally, a few days ago, Dale Earnhardt Jr and several other drivers climbed into their cars and went down racing at the iconic short track.
Responding to Childers’ tweet, Junior stated, “Wish you were racing with me last night. Can’t wait to see you behind the wheel again someday.”
Childers has been serving as Kevin Harvick’s crew chief and earlier he was also a racing driver participating in the stock car racing scene. The Crew Chief raced in the NASCAR Busch series with the Jay Robinson Racing team driving the number 49 Chevrolet in the year 2000.

He has also raced in late model series, Slim Jim, and Hooters versions of the Pro Cup Series.
Moreover, he started his racing career in karting just like most other racing drivers. When NASCAR fans saw Junior’s wish for Childers to be racing along with him, they wasted no time falling behind in support in order to make this happen.
NASCAR fans react to Dale Earnhardt Jr’s retweet involving Rodney Childers
Fans were appreciative of the idea of seeing Childers racing once more alongside one of NASCAR’s finest. Some stated that Junior could help create an entirely new series involving late-model cars and have former and retired drivers race together.
Fans suggested multiple ideas of how to get Rodney Childers back into racing, whilst also fulfilling Junior’s wish.

I had an idea. Like you have had the Xfinity “all star car” why not a Late Model “All Star Car”. I bet you would have former &retired drivers beating down the door to run a few races . #88 when they run- #3 when you run it. SunDrop has gotten more exposure this week than ever.
