Sometimes, media organizations can make mistakes, and admittedly, nobody is perfect. Last year, sports media giant ESPN made a massive goof-up. Earlier, the news had broken that the 23XI Racing team had recruited Kurt Busch to race alongside Bubba Wallace for 2022. However, ESPN had accidentally written that it was Kyle Busch who would be driving alongside Wallace.

Naturally, the driver had a good laugh about the situation and ‘congratulated‘ himself on the deal. He was not the only one who found the situation amusing, as many fans poked fun at ESPN. People wondered how he would be able to drive his #18 Joe Gibbs Racing car and the #45 23XI Racing car. Others also recounted similar stories where major media companies made such goof-ups.

Now in the 2022 season, Busch is in a bit of a fix with regard to his future. This is because his long-time sponsor, M&M’s, is leaving NASCAR at the end of the season. As a result, the 2-time Cup Series champion will have to hunt for a sponsor to stay with Joe Gibbs Racing or to join another team.

Although JGR is keen to retain Busch’s services, there may come a point where they have to let him go. If that does happen, one has to wonder who will snatch him up for the 2023 season. 23XI Racing is one candidate, especially considering Kurt Busch has health issues. However, the question is, will the organization swap out one Busch for another? Or will another team acquire Kyle’s services?

For now, Kyle Busch will be focusing on his 2022 Playoff challenge. Admittedly, things got off to a shaky start at the Darlington Raceway, with Busch’s engine blowing up. On the bright side, there are still races left for him to turn things around and avoid elimination.
