“Let Them Fight” – Fans Agree With Tyler Reddick as He Slams NASCAR Security for Intervention in the Ross Chastain-Noah Gragson Scuffle

The NASCAR world was stunned after the post-race events at Kansas Speedway last Sunday. With Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson getting into a fistfight, things looked intense between the two. However, the incident could have aggravated had NASCAR Security not intervened at the right time. Surprisingly, Tyler Reddick isn’t quite happy about it.

Tempers flaring in Cup Series races is a common phenomenon. However, to ensure things don’t go out of hand, respective authorities are in place. Interestingly, the NASCAR faithful wanted things to have stayed uninterrupted between Chastain and Gragson.

Tyler Reddick criticizes NASCAR Security following the Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson brawl

The tussle between Chastain and Gragson has grabbed everyone’s attention at the moment. Recently, NASCAR decided to not take any action against the drivers involved. However, post the incident, the subject of discussion has been something else.

With Gragson raging during the incident, it didn’t take time for it to turn physical. While the 24-year-old initiated the scuffle, it was Chastain who ended up with the only punch of the incident. Luckily, NASCAR Security promptly intervened to stop it from getting more intense. However, this has upset 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick as he recently spoke to the media.

He said, “It’s kind of a bummer that it was broken up. If you’re going to break it up really early, break it up as soon as Noah puts his hand on Ross. Don’t wait for someone to throw the first punch. Then the guy that gets hit or missed by that first punch doesn’t have a chance to throw one back.”

Reddick feels it is of no use if the security is to play this kind of role. He said, “I think from the driver’s point of view, why even go there and do anything? Looking at how that one went [between Chastain and Gragson], you’ve just got to go up and sucker punch somebody and that’s going to be the end of it. You’re not going to get hit back.”

While he understands that it is the job of the security personnel, Reddick explained how allowing the fight to go on is important. He said, “If you don’t want that [scuffles] to happen, don’t even let the drivers get face-to-face after the race. I would rather see it to where drivers can voice their frustrations for a minute, space between them. If they wanna fight, fight; but there’s a lot of emotions and adrenaline running in those moments.”

The 27-year-old gives an interesting perspective here. While his idea is debatable, the NASCAR faithful certainly agree with him.

It is no secret how the NASCAR faithful love the drama that comes with the sport. Naturally, the curiosity to know what could have happened had the security personnel not intervened in Kansas intrigued them.

When asked if the security should have stepped back to allow the Chastain–Gragson fight to continue, several fans voiced their opinions. A majority of them agreed that security shouldn’t have stepped in.

“Security did it for them…should have let them fight it out…ross got luck dude blocked Noah’s punch back… bout time someone atleast tried … need to wall him early about 5 weeks in a row… no call from nascar is a good thing”

“Let them fight! Let’s bring some off track action back. You want new fans? Show a clip of Noah and Ross fighting for 30-45 seconds on every sports channel in the world. You want stars? Introduce them to the world as guys who take no shit from each other.”

“Yes. I like Ross as an entertaining driver, but he deserves to answer for his style.”

“Yes, Should not have broken up the fight. Let Noah kick Chastain’s ass into the turf on live television. Heck, get the other 38 drivers in on the action as well.”

“Absolutely. Oughta be hockey rules. Intervene only once one of them goes down (or if you see multiple crew guys try to enter). Better for the teams too; not tearing up $100,000 worth of equipment for something that could be settled face to face”
