Though his on-track antics and dramatic stints often made him quite a controversial figure in the NASCAR Cup Series, 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace is indeed a man of many connections. From his NASCAR bromance with the Team Penske driver Ryan Blaney to his contacts outside NASCAR, Wallace has quite a number of friends in the racing world.
While the Cup Series schedule zooms past the speedway race at Michigan, Wallace has once again upped the ante with his latest comments on his Indycar buddy. Unlike Wallace who is struggling to claim a win this season, his Indycar buddy has claimed a stellar win and a pole position.
Despite his recent impressive pole performance in Nashville, bad luck has once again snatched his win from his grasp prompting the #23 driver to pop a few sarcastic jabs at the #4 ranked Indycar sensation.

Bubba Wallace shares a sly joke as his Indycar buddy loses his win at Nashville
Friendships in racing is no new tale. And Denny Hamlin’s NASCAR driver, Bubba Wallace certainly has a lot of connections starting from his NASCAR circle, from Ryan Blaney and William Byron to the Supercar championship turned Indycar racer, Scott McLaughlin. Recently, the Alabama native, before his speedway run at Michigan International Speedway, came out with a sarcastic jab poking his friend who just lost the win by a whisker.
While the rain gods halted the Cup Series action at the 2-mile speedway with Wallace ending the day at 9th despite a caution-riddled frantic race. His Kiwi buddy, McLaughlin yet again was denied a win despite putting on an early-stage rally. Though the Kiwi managed to take the pole by a big margin, he just couldn’t turn his pole-winning performance into a win as Kyle Kirkwood claimed his second win at the Nashville street course.
Spoiler alert. 😂

Reacting to his buddy’s 2nd position finish, Wallace fired away sarcastic blows, saying, “Ah my buddy Scott [McLaughlin], he qualified on the pole and let me down again so I think we’re even you know, pull up for each other and not delivering, so, hopefully, he’s not pulling too hard for me.“

Well for one, FireKeepers Casino 400 certainly wasn’t what anyone anticipated it to be. While the weather forecasts indicated a 60% chance of rainfall, the rain gods put the field and the fans’ patience test, first by delaying the start for a brief interval and once things brightened up with the dark clouds moving away from MIS, the race got underway.
But soon the clouds loomed back again this time stronger than before. While the high-flowing speedway action had all the thrills and frills with caution flying under the 15th lap, and multiple drivers getting knocked around, the weather yet again played spoilsport as it once again halted the action but this time for good.

It was pouring heavily that the race had to be postponed to Monday with 74 laps done out of the 200-lap race. By this time, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott and the super-sub, Josh Berry all fell victim to the frantic pace of the field while Wallace ended his day 9th with his teammate, Tyler Reddick at the top.
