However, the Darlington race controversy surrounding Busch in 2022 triggered Dale Earnhardt Jr’s memories. In one of the episodes of his podcast, Earnhardt Jr talked about why he feels Busch behaves in a certain way. Although the former NASCAR driver defended ‘Rowdy’ Busch’s actions at Darlington, he still talked about why the event did not surprise him.
Kyle Busch faced a lot of criticism after leaving his race car on the pit road at the Darlington Speedway. However, Earnhardt Jr. said that it was not a big deal, as no one knew in what condition his car back then was. But after defending his present actions, Earnhardt said that he is used to seeing Busch do such things.
He said; “Here’s why I feel the way I feel. It doesn’t bother me. I mean, of course, parking your car in the middle of the pit road is not good. But it’s because Kyle Busch did it that it doesn’t bother me. He does these things and this is the way Kyle is.”
Further, he said that Busch’s behavior is a result of the way he has been treated over the years. He added; “And I’ll be honest, everybody has let him off the hook his entire career, in all of the moments when he has been blatantly obnoxious or made bad decisions.”
Following that, Dale Earnhardt Jr pointed out that people do not bother much about Busch’s behavior. He said; “I’d say 90% of the time he gets a pass because ‘Oh! He’s passionate. Oh! He hates to lose.’ How many post-race interviews has he blown off? Disappeared?”

Dale Earnhardt Jr’s recent tweet about Kyle Busch joining Richard Childress Racing blew up the NASCAR Twitter-sphere. Although Earnhardt didn’t explicitly state that Busch would be moving to RCR, the three emojis in the tweet were more than sufficient for fans to decipher the news.
