Good things keep coming Zane Smith‘s way. The 2022 Truck Series champion earned a move to the Cup Series earlier this year through a multi-year deal with Trackhouse Racing. As a loan agreement to Spire Motorsports followed, the 24-year-old driver has been looking forward to his debut season as a full-time driver in NASCAR’s premier tourney.

In recent news, Zane Smith has unveiled the No. 71 Chevrolet Camaro’s perfect look for ‘The Great American Race,’ the Daytona 500. Painted in the American colors of red, blue, and white, the paint scheme portrays the values of the prestigious race and the love America has for it. Following the revelation, NASCAR fans have admired it on social media platforms as the paint scheme went viral. Tune in to the 2024 Daytona 500 race on February 18, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. EST.

The paint scheme comes from a partnership between Trackhouse Racing and WeatherTech. WeatherTech manufactures premium made-in-America automotive attachments, home decor and maintenance products, and pet care products.

With Trackhouse extending its alliance to Spire Motorsports and Kaulig Racing, WeatherTech has volunteered to provide these teams’ drivers with a patriotic paint scheme for the Daytona 500. Dropping the curtains on his Daytona ride, Zane Smith posted on Twitter: “The perfect paint scheme for The Great American Race! A look at my #DAYTONA500 @WeatherTech ZL1 Camaro.”

Another driver who will race with a similar paint scheme is Supercars import and 2022 Chicago Street Race winner Shane van Gisbergen. Driving the No. 97 Camaro, he will use a paint scheme identical to Zane Smith’s as he looks forward to a seamless transition to NASCAR in 2024.

“This is great news for us. I hope our Chevrolet is fast because I know we are going to look good in the WeatherTech paint scheme,” stated Zane Smith. “I’ve already gone to WeatherTech’s website to find things for my personal cars. You always want a sponsor who does cool things or makes cool stuff, and looks like we got one of the best for Daytona.” Following Zane’s announcement on Twitter, NASCAR fans couldn’t hold back their excitement and showed their appreciation in the comments.

As a sport, NASCAR’s fanbase has been largely limited to the North American continent. While there have been factions of fans in Canada and Mexico, the majority of fans are based in the United States. With that being said, the Daytona 500 is a representation of the American spirit of racing. The race is arguably one of the biggest in American motorsports history, and it was only right for Zane Smith to flaunt his new paint scheme.

Voicing his admiration for the simplicity of the design, one of the fans wrote, “Love the less is more paint scheme.” The car’s design is pretty simple, with the white base covering most of the vehicle.

It’s beautiful,” commented another fan, in awe of Zane’s paint scheme.

“Truck series CHAMP. To that. Life is good,” read another comment motivating Zane Smith to repeat his heroics from the 2022 season and hinting at how the new life in Cup Series has rewarded him.
