It’s been glorifying 75 years since NASCAR’s inception in 1948. During this amazing journey, the fraternity has found some amazing drivers with brilliant talent. Though everyone involved in the paddock puts in the hard work and effort, some people deserve memorable recognition. In light of this, another addition was made to the list of seventy-five top drivers of NASCAR. And it made Dale Earnhardt Jr feel fortunate.
In 1998, the officials at NASCAR decided to recognize and honor the top fifty greatest drivers on the 50th anniversary. While continuing that tradition this year, they decided to add twenty-five more to that list. Now, with NASCAR’s rich history and popularity, there is probably a long list of names that could still be added to that list.

While a few names were announced earlier this month, another legendary driver’s name was added to the prestigious Top 75 greatest drivers list. It was none other than NASCAR Veteran Jeff Burton, who was given this honor. Naturally, everyone in the community thought he deserved it.
Among everyone who reacted to the Twitter post by NASCAR on NBC, Dale Earnhardt Jr was one who felt blessed to have known Burton. He re-posted the surprise announcement video with a few words. Dale Jr wrote, “Jeff was fun to race. Clean but always tough. I feel incredibly lucky to know him and call him a friend.”

The video showcases the overwhelmed and emotional Jeff Burton when he gets to know about the honor. His son Harrison Burton, along with others, played a prank on him at Talladega Superspeedway. Harrison made his father believe that they were to shoot a Father’s Day video, but in reality, the plan was to have him there for the recognition.
The idea was to have him in the pit box along with his wife, who would hand him the NASCAR box after Harrison shares the good news. But Burton changed his plans and went to the old TV booth to watch his son race, where Harrison revealed the surprise to his father on the radio. Jeff Burton was certainly emotional after hearing it from his son and it was pretty visible in the video.
