The decision to embrace motherhood in its full glory is not easy at first. While some moments make you fall in love with your little one time and again, some test your patience as well. Tony Stewart and his wife Leah Pruett welcomed their baby boy, Dominic James Stewart, in November 2024, and since then they have been quite active on social media sharing tidbits about their life so far. Leah Pruett opened up on one particular time-constraining challenge she faced so far.
The 36-year-old racer took a break from her everyday racing duties in December 2023 and embraced motherhood in its full glory after she announced her pregnancy. Pruett recently took to her Instagram profile and shared how she often faces time crunch while tending to little Dominic James Stewart’s needs.

While Leah Pruett took a sabbatical from her work, it was her husband Tony Stewart who took on the responsibilities of her driving career and returned to NHRA in the Top Fuel category. However, welcoming a baby into your life can be challenging and many sacrifices need to be made. Each baby will have their schedule and ensuring that everything is done according to that time frame is important.
Leah took to Instagram and shared about a similar update which gave an insight into how difficult it has been for her to manage through everything. Her Instagram story reshared a post that read, “Leaving your breastfed baby for the first time knowing you have 2 hrs, 17 minutes & 20 seconds until you need to be back for the next feeding”. To which Pruet added, “lol #adventuring“. Breastfeeding is challenging, but Leah seems to be taking to the challenges with a smile on her face, while hilariously poking at the lack of time she gets for herself.
Recently, she had also been very vocal about how motherhood being new to her has posed challenges and she wasn’t prepared for the same. One of her posts pointing out the same saw her say, “Basically, after I had Dom (Dominic James Stewart) at the end of November, I soon realized how much did I not know about motherhood and I need to learn”. She further added, “Feeding, pumping, washing parts, napping, changing, and all the things on his schedule, that’s something that should be left for superwoman. I’m a very strong woman, I’m not a superwoman”.
This came after Pruett formally announced that she would not be getting back to the steering anytime soon, since she is still embracing her responsibilities as a first-time mother. Given that recovering from postnatal body condition and balancing between duties can be difficult, Pruett does deserve all the time in the world before she ventures back into the world of motorsports.

With the Stewart Haas Racing team coming to an end, it wasn’t only the drivers and the team members who were at the back front, even the Tony Stewart Foundation ceased operations. However, this does not mean that Smoke and his wife would not be taking their goodwill gestures forward. In a surprising turn of events, Stewart along with his wife Leah Pruett have partnered with Novant Health. This is an endeavor that takes care of underprivileged children and does the needful to alleviate their everyday well-being. The initiative focuses on providing the best medical care in Charlotte.
Announcing the same, the collaborative post read, “We’re revving up pediatric care in Charlotte with the upcoming Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital Tony Stewart Intermediate Care Unit—made possible by a generous donation from championship-winning race car driver @tsrsmoke! A huge thanks to Tony, his wife @leah.pruett, and all our @novanthealthfoundation donors for helping us cross the finish line for remarkable pediatric care”.

The partnership with Novant Health will establish a six-bed pediatric care unit. Consequently, it will bridge the gap between intensive and general care to support 2,100 children annually. With a family-friendly, under-the-sea theme, the unit is backed by a $2.25 million donation from Stewart and his wife. Kudos to the great initiative and we strongly believe that this might change the lives of thousands of those in need!
