Earlier this month, the NASCAR Busch Light Clash took place at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Once the race was over, there was a different race taking place at the venue. To be precise, the Coliseum had to restore the stadium to what it looked like before the Busch Light Clash.

Barely a few days after the Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl, images surfaced of the Coliseum completely dug up. Now, the iconic sports venue has confirmed that they have successfully restored it to its former glory, just in time to receive the US Major League Rugby champions, the Los Angeles Giltinis.

As it turns out, the Giltinis are supposed to face the New England Free Jacks in their first game of the season. With this 2021 title triumph, the Giltinis join the Seattle Seawolves as champions. Admittedly, the MLR series is relatively new, having been founded in 2017, with the Seawolves and Giltinis as the only champions.

What next for the LA Coliseum after the NASCAR race?

In all honesty, it was pretty incredible how fast the authorities were able to turn things around. In fact, it has been almost two weeks since journalist Jeff Gluck posted images of a dug-up Coliseum. So, it is heartening to see that the stadium is back in business. The NFL champions the LA Rams had to wait a little to use it.

Somewhere later down the line, the track will have to be dug up again and repaved. This is in order for NASCAR to come back next year if the Coliseum is there to stay on the calendar in the long run. One thing is for sure, many enjoyed the first race at the iconic venue. This could hopefully be the start of a beautiful partnership.
