The Xfinity race at Michigan just concluded and what a race it was! Where Justin Allgaier took the win and left everyone surprised, it was Rod Sieg’s youngest son who panicked fans on the grandstand. During the 21st race of the season, Kyle Sieg met with an accident that left fans with a gasp at the edge of their seats.
The Cabo Wabo 250 went into overtime, and the caution car was out to guide drivers through the rain. In the end, fuel management became crucial as the cars were going into overtime after driving several laps behind the caution car. The race ended with a white flag lap because of the wrecks, and Allgaier was granted his second race win of the season.
A jet dryer was sent out on the track to make sure that the race could continue, as turns 3 and 4 were deemed unsafe, and the race restarted with 3 laps to go. However, the restart did not come without commotion; the No. 88 car was the first to crash into the outer wall. The No. 81 car made contact with Kyle Sieg, throwing his car upside down as it left the track.

The safety marshals were quick to react, and because of the new-gen car safety parameters, an accident that could have been fatal ended up being a few bumps that did put Sieg in the hospital.

Among all the drivers, Sheldon Creed needed to win the most, as he is the hungriest driver with 11 P2 finishes in the last 21 months. According to Dale Jarret, “Coming in second hurts more than coming in last,” and after announcing his move to the Haas Factory team along with Sam Mayer, Creed had another second-place finish, continuing his bad luck. Creed now holds the record for being the driver with the most runner-up finishes without a win.
