Pocono Raceway, famously dubbed “The Tricky Triangle,” has been a hot spot for NASCAR Truck Series races since 2010. With only two races remaining before the series hits the playoffs, the drivers are revving their engines, determined to seize a victory and secure a spot in the playoffs. But Kyle Busch, having already clinched a win at Las Vegas and secured his place in the playoffs, has set his sights on conquering the Pocono race track as well.

In a pre-race interview, Busch couldn’t contain his excitement as he revealed his ambition to hit the track with Team Chevy, aiming for a monumental milestone—KBM’s 100th Victory.

“If we can do that, it’ll be KBM’s 100th,” Kyle Busch plans on ‘The Tricky Triangle

The Pocono track is renowned for its unique trio of turns and lengthy, flat stretches. The 2.5-mile Roval Superspeedway sets itself apart with its lower banking and tighter corners compared to tracks of similar size. But when it comes to Busch, nothing is off the table.

For ten consecutive seasons, he has triumphed in at least one series race. He has won an astonishing 37.6 percent of the Truck races he has competed in, and in 56.7 percent of his career’s 165 series appearances, he has finished either first or second.

In March 2023, Busch added another chapter to his Truck Series dominance, notching his fourth victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With stage three in his grasp, he emerged victorious in the second race of the 2023 season. And now, he’s gearing up to take on the Truck Series at Pocono.

In an interview previewing the Pocono race, Busch shared his intentions to chase down his team’s 100th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win on Saturday.

He eloquently stated, “This will be our first time showing up with Team Chevy, so I’m looking forward to our Silverados being fast out there and of course me being behind the wheel of the Zariz Transport Silverado hoping that we can get another win for them to cap off their first year as sponsor in NASCAR on a high note. If we can do that, it’ll be KBM’s 100th — it’s been talked about way too long that we’ve been trying to bring home that monumental win, so hopefully we can knock that out of the way Saturday.”

Kyle Busch also expressed confidence in his team’s past performances at Pocono, fueling his aspirations for triumph at “The Tricky Triangle.”

In 2023, Kyle’s team will have made 14 starts, boasting one victory, one pole position, leading 163 laps, securing five top-five finishes, and clinching eight top-10 finishes. Their average finish stands at an impressive 11.7. And with only two races remaining in the regular season, they currently enjoy a comfortable 39-point cushion above the cutoff line for the owner’s playoffs.

Reflecting on past experiences at Pocono, Rowdy openly acknowledged the rough start. He unhesitantly admitted that KHI (Kevin Harvick’s team) defeated him for a couple of years.

He recalled, “We went and tested there in 2015 when Rudy (Fugle) was the crew chief with Erik Jones, and I was able to go to the test and be there as well, and ever since then we’ve been really good. We went back for the race a month later and I was able to bring home the win and I think we’ve won at Pocono every year except one year since then — even had a couple of KBM 1-2 finishes along the way.”

Kyle Busch made history in 2018, achieving a doing that stands unrivaled to this day. With an incredible win in the third running of the Pocono Green 250, he became a trailblazer, standing alone as the sole driver to conquer all three top divisions of NASCAR at Pocono Raceway. That’s precisely why NASCAR enthusiasts would be over the moon if he could snatch that elusive 100th triumph for his team in the upcoming race.
