Following the recent passing of Joe Gibbs’s son, Coy Gibbs, the iconic Kyle Petty mentioned that he felt he was in the same bracket as Joe Gibbs and Rick Hendrick. Petty stated, “There’s too many of us. And I put myself in that category with Joe and with Rick Hendrick, who have lost sons and who have lost children. This is Joe’s second child. JD passed away and we know what JD meant to the sport and to Denny Hamlin into that organization. And then Coy steps in and picks up that mouth for his brother and for his for his dad. And now he’s gone.”
“I can’t imagine what Pat and Joe. But their faith is so strong. Their faith is so strong. And they have been such an inspiration to this garage in this community. And I think that’s what people have to understand is our community lost, someone. Our community lost someone, that garage lost someone, our sport lost someone. Ty will be that legacy, that kid that we always look at and always remember. But my heart has been broken all day for the Gibbs family.“
