The most intriguing factor about NASCAR races is that you can never predict the outcome. There can be moments when a driver is enjoying the spotlight, and the next season, he could be left behind in the pack without a win. Take Chase Elliott, for example. Who would have thought that the 2020 Cup Series champion, who’s been in the playoffs for the last 7 seasons, would not make it to the playoffs this year?

Similarly, with almost the entire year being a catch-me-if-you-can tussle between the Chevrolets and the Toyotas, the Fords stayed in recession. However, lately, or more specifically, since Richmond, the Fords have been showing impressive speed and promise on NASCAR’s racetracks. And among those Fords, NASCAR veteran Kyle Petty chose his favorite.

Last year, although Chris Buescher had a win, both Brad Keselowski and Buescher missed the playoffs. Moreover, the #6 team suffered an L2 penalty. However, they did not stop believing in teamwork and striving to achieve their dream.

The dream of making a 1-2 finish And that dream became a reality at Daytona when Chris Buescher grabbed the checkered flag and Brad Keselowski came wheeling behind. With both his cars in the playoffs, the 39-year-old team owner is having the time of his life. However, success never comes without a price. And the price that RFK Racing paid was hours of dedication and undivided trust in each other.

Kyle Petty said, “Brad is an incredible race car driver. He was meant to be an owner. Because he sees a bigger picture. He sees a broader landscape, and he sees the nuances in that landscape. He sees where he can take advantage of this or take advantage of that.”

According to Petty, Brad sees what the other team owners do not. And that is the reason why everyone behind the garage of RFK Racing believes in Brad Keselowski.

“And Brad believes in Chris Buescher and that goes a long way,” added Petty.

Tables have turned as the top-tier Ford teams are lagging behind a relatively new one. Kyle Petty lashed out at other Ford teams, pointing out the main difference between them and Brad Keselowski’s organization.

Rules and regulations are absolutely crucial when you are running a team as an owner. However, there has to be relaxation as and when necessary. As they say, there is no ‘I’ in the team. A team that works together stays together.

Kyle Petty feels like the milieu at Front Row Motorsports and RFK Racing is a lot friendlier than that at other big-shot Ford teams like Team Penske and Stewart-Haas Racing.

Kyle Petty exclaimed, “When you get to one of those bigger teams, it’s a little bit different culture, it’s not as personable, you don’t see the entire tea at Pizza Hut. Like you do with Front Row, and that’s old school!”

The 63-year-old NASCAR analyst admitted that the success of RFK Racing has blown him over. On that very note, he juxtaposed the lack of success from Stewart-Haas Racing with the mediocre performances from Team Penske. And Petty perhaps has every reason to say so.

Out of the four Stewart-Haas cars, only Kevin Harvick’s #4 Ford is in the 2023 playoffs. And for Penske, only Joey Logano, out of the three drivers they have, is in the playoff rumble. RFK Racing has both their cars corked in the round of 16s.

Petty felt like the winning momentum had shifted from the top-tier teams to the third-tier and fourth-tier teams. According to him, the sponsors of Stewart-Haas and Penske are probably wondering why they are spending so much money on these two teams when RFK Racing and Front Row Motorsports are taking all the feathers away.

“It looks like they are doing it with a third to half the money, and that’s impressive!” added Petty.

Petty feels like the credit should go to Brad Keselowski. He justified his argument by saying, “I think Brad’s attitude, how Brad approaches the sport, the way he thinks about the sport, I think it’s bled over into the whole organization.”
