Today, Kyle Larson is among one of the most recognizable faces in the whole motorsport scene. The 31-year-old Hendrick Motorsports star has several accolades to his name, including the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series championship. He is also one of the most consistent drivers in the Cup Series field today and as a result, Larson has joined an elite list of racers.

Larson came mighty close to winning the 2023 Cup Series championship. He was locked in tight battles with Ryan Blaney towards the end of the championship race in Phoenix, but it just wasn’t his day. His show of excellence is not something new though. He always showed great talent for racing. When he used to race open-wheel cars during his teen years, he earned the nickname ‘Yung Money’ for his incredible race craft and talent.

His potential has been realized to a great extent at this point in his career. Kyle Larson is in the prime of his life and he is operating at a high level at the moment. In fact, the driver of the #5 Hendrick Motorsports car has won more races than anybody in the NASCAR Cup Series since the 2020s decade began with 17.

This puts him in elite company. Among the drivers who have won the most races in a decade are Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, Darrell Waltrip, and Jimmie Johnson. The King has the highest number of wins in a decade with a whopping 101 race victories in the 1960s.

That is a tough number to match in today’s day and age but Kyle Larson would be hoping to stay on that list by the time the decade comes to a close. Given the level of his performance and consistency, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the 31-year-old does achieve that feat and wins a few more Cup Series titles along the way.

The 2021 Cup Series champion is one who doesn’t like to take himself out of his racing groove easily, which is why he competes in a number of competitions and races apart from the Cup Series. Larson recently confirmed his participation in another race.

Larson recently revealed that he will be racing in this weekend’s USAC Turkey Night Grand Prix event at Ventura Raceway. After an impressive victory in the Hangtown 100 at Placerville Speedway, Kyle Larson’s confidence will be high.

“It was a lot of fun and it was cool to get back into victory lane in a midget. Not that I race them a lot, but it’s been a couple of years since I won a midget race. I’ve run 10 or 12 midget races over the last couple of years and that’s probably the longest I’ve gone without winning a midget race,” the 2-time Hangman 100 winner said.
