There are always a few NASCAR drivers who rule the headlines of NASCAR news. The past week was spent talking about the Kyle Larson-Denny Hamlin dispute at Pocono Raceway. However, there are certain NASCAR drivers that work hard in silence, and let their success make the noise.
Kyle Larson has been aware of one such driver who made very little noise and hardly drew any attention to himself. He had even revealed the name a few weeks before in an interview. But it was only after his recent win that NASCAR enthusiasts started talking about his performance on the grid.
Richmond Cup Series race winner Chris Buescher had drawn Kyle Larson’s attention way before his first win of the Cup Series season, but this was made public only after his recent victory.

Kyle Larson had almost predicted the future
Only a few weeks before Chris Buescher’s win, Kyle Larson had made a comment to Kelly Crandal, writer for Racer Magazine. He had mentioned that Beuscher was the most underrated driver of NASCAR who didn’t draw a lot of the limelight. He was one of the drivers who mostly kept to themselves but had a lot of potential and talent.
“Chris Buescher, he’s a very underrated driver. He’s quiet; nobody really talks about him much, and he’s definitely one of the most talented drivers in the field,” Larson had remarked. It turned out that, his comment was more accurate than it was then expected to be.
Fast forward to a few weeks later, and Chris Beuscher landed a remarkable win. He kept celebrated drivers like JGR’s Denny Hamlin in tow throughout and made sure that the trophy was his. It was a fierce victory that didn’t come without steady competition. It was almost as if, Kyle Larson had predicted that Beuscher may bag one of the victories in the upcoming races.
Kyle Larson to me for a story a few weeks ago: “Chris Buescher, he’s a very underrated driver. He’s quiet; nobody really talks about him much, and he’s definitely one of the most talented drivers in the field."

Chris Buescher absolutely ruled the last hundred laps at Richmond this weekend before bagging the victory. He deftly held down Denny Hamlin and could also very easily man the restart before the last three laps. Put simply, the RFK Racing driver was on a roll this weekend. He made sure to virtually bag a position in the 2023 Playoffs and secure the 3rd Cup Series win of his career.

Despite a caution being brought out at an unfortunate moment because of a spin by Daniel Suarez before the last 10 laps, Beuscher struggled his way to leave behind the likes of Hamlin, Kyle Busch, and Joey Logano before finally winning the match.

Beuscher has had around four top-5 finishes this season and has bagged quite a lot of playoff points to make people root for him in the Championship. Despite a restart at just 3 laps to go, he was able to maintain a leading position by keeping all the prominent NASCAR drivers behind him. Kyle Larson certainly has an eye for talent, and he did not miss this time too.
