Spire Motorsports has been quite proactive in recent years. The team purchased a charter from Live Fast Motorsports in 2023 for a staggering sum of $40 million, while taking over Kyle Busch’s truck series operations ‘Rowdy Manufacturing’ the same year. If that wasn’t all, they have also signed multiple drivers, highlighting their unwavering ambition to become a force to be reckoned with in the NASCAR world and go wheel-to-wheel against the sport’s heavyweights.

Naturally, a significant amount of money has been spent to become a ‘top dog’ and now the team is looking to recoup some of that investment. Spire has listed a few trucks for sale ahead of the 2025 season, with Kyle Larson’s No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado also up for grabs.

Few drivers in American motorsports are as versatile as Kyle Larson. The California native made just one Truck Series appearance in 2023, with the race being held at North Wilkesboro Speedway for the first time in 1996. Despite qualifying in 8th place, Larson, driving the No. 7 Chevy showed dominance on the 0.625-mile track by winning Stage 2 and leading 138 laps. The racer ended up securing his third win in the competition, having last entered Victory Lane in 2016 at Eldora Speedway.

That wasn’t the only appearance the truck has made in the competition. Last year, Spire Motorsports driver Rajah Caruth drove the vehicle at Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the 2024 TSport 200. Despite finishing on the pole during qualifying, the Georgia native couldn’t hold on to his track position, ending up fifth at the end of Stage 1 and ninth in Stage 2. Eventually, the No. 71 Chevy driver secured an eighth-place result at the 0.686-mile oval track, a disappointing result under the circumstances.

Given the truck’s history and racing pedigree, it’s not surprising that Spire Motorsports is asking for $65,000 for the vehicle. Even though Kyle Larson’s appearance was only because he was substituting for Alex Bowman, his dominant performance on the racetrack helped the driver finish 0.974 seconds ahead of second-place Ty Majeski. Sharing his experience from the race, the California native said, “It was a really fun track there, especially in the truck where you can use the apron and such at both ends. I had a good time. That was a lot of fun on the long runs.”

Kyle Larson wasn’t the only one who complimented the car’s performance, as Rajah Caruth was also taken aback by the vehicle’s speed, especially during qualifying. The Spire Motorsports driver said, “I was honestly surprised. I was enthused with our HendrickCars.com Silverado. Kind of after a long run in practice I’m honestly really surprised by the qualifying speed.” Layne Riggs also praised the truck, commenting on an Instagram post, “I drove that chassis at IRP in 2023. Got me to a 3rd place finish. Good piece and Bono did a great job.”

It seems Spire Motorsports is not just offloading the vehicle driven by Kyle Larson and Rajah Caruth. As things stand, three trucks are up for sale, including a No. 77 Chevy from the Kyle Busch Motorsports era. Even though ‘Rowdy’ sold his company to Spire in 2023, the remnant from a bygone time is nothing less than a collector’s piece and it’s priced at a reasonable sum of $50,000.

However, potential buyers have been informed that the truck needs some bodywork repair, presumably after being involved in scuffles at Martinsville Speedway in 2024, in which, the vehicle finished third.

Spire Motorsports has a point to prove. After spending a significant amount of money to see an improvement in on-track results, all eyes will be on Jeff Dickerson’s team during the 2025 season. The team has recently signed Matt McCall, who has previously served as Brad Keselowski’s crew chief and will join as the Director of Vehicle Performance. He isn’t the only appointment made, as Dax Gerringer, who worked as a Lead Engineer for the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing team will be serving as a technical director.

The two backroom staff appointments are just a small part of a restructuring process that has taken place over the last two years. Spire Motorsports will feature two new drivers in 2025, with Justin Haley and Michael McDowell making their debut for the team at Daytona International Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series. If that wasn’t all, Rodney Childers has also joined in as crew chief for Haley’s No. 7 car along with spotter Eddie D’Hondt.

It seems Spire Motorsports is leaving no stone unturned to become an unstoppable force at NASCAR’s highest level. It will be interesting to see who will buy the three trucks currently up for sale. Even though Kyle Larson’s vehicle is priced the highest, it will likely be the first one sold off.

The money raised after selling the trucks will go a long way in Jeff Dickerson and Thaddeus Puchyr recouping some of their investment after spending millions of dollars to build a championship-contending organization.
