At this point, one really has to wonder if Kyle Larson is actually human. The defending Cup Series champion has been splitting time between his NASCAR duties and competing in dirt races. Quite recently, the Hendrick Motorsports star was at the Bristol Dirt Nationals, competing in a race.

All this was in spite of the fact that he has a Cup race this weekend at the Richmond Raceway. Truthfully speaking, Larson is lucky that the states of Tennessee and Virginia are just next to each other. So, he doesn’t have to travel really far in between races. This kind of dedication just goes to show that Kyle Larson is a different breed of driver.

Unfortunately, Larson did not win the Bristol Dirt Nationals race. In fact, he started all down on the fifth row of the grid. Meanwhile, Chris Madden was the one who reached Victory Lane and won the $50,000 cash prize. The best part was that he led from flag to flag in the 50-lap feature and this was his second win this season.

What can Kyle Larson do in the NASCAR race in Richmond?

Of course, the Hendrick Motorsports driver cannot afford to dwell on the Bristol Dirt Nationals loss. Instead, he should channel all his determination into trying to perform better at the Richmond Raceway. He is languishing at 16th place in the standings and needs to be at his absolute best in Richmond to improve his position in the 2022 standings.

On the bright side, it is still a long season, and anything can happen. So now, the big question is, can the No.5 driver defend his 2021 Cup Series crown? Obviously, the current season is proving that if he wants that second title, he needs to really work for it. This is because Larson is not having an easy run to that crown.
