Along with the big names joining High Limit Racing and making their 2024 appearance, including USAC midget racing champion Rico Abreu, the multi-time USAC title holder, Tyler Courtney is also looking to make his way to Kyle Larson‘s promotion. The seasoned dirt racer, who hails from Indiana, is the 16th driver on the list to sign in to the Larson-Sweet-partnered National Series, slated to mark his entry with Clauson Marshall Racing.
While the driver was eager to announce his official entry into the national series, promotion owner Kyle Larson was more of his older, blunt self when he welcomed the racer with a sly joke, poking at him for his Tulsa shootout performance.

High Limit Racing owner Kyle Larson mocks his new driver as his Tulsa shootout goes off the rails
The 2-time All-Star champion Tyler Courtney has announced his plans to join High Limit Racing alongside the star-studded lineup that includes Jacob Allen (Shark Racing No. 1A), Spencer Bayston (CJB Motorsports No. 5), former NASCAR sensation Kasey Kahne (Kahne No. 9), Larson’s business partner Brad Sweet (Kasey Kahne Racing No. 49), etc. to try his luck in the national Sprint car racing series.
Popularly known as “Sunshine” in a racing circle, Courtney couldn’t emulate his grand return at the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 competition at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, New York, at the shootout at Tulsa. Instead, the 29-year-old met his match in the recent micro-midget racing extravaganza when, in the closing lap of the race, he ran wide into the wall, taking up his momentum and ending the race ninth.

Reflecting on this aspect, Larson mocked the driver with a cheeky sarcastic jab, mentioning his bittersweet Tulsa finish as a “stellar shootout performance.” Retweeting the promotion’s post that relayed the bright news to the community, Larson shared on his “X” handle with a twist, captioning it as “Finally… thought @TyCourtney7BC might be going full-time micro racing after his stellar shootout performance.”

But the good times did not last long as a grievous back injury got the driver sidelined for over a month, only to make a grand return at Outlaw Speedway, leading 35 laps to cruise his way into victory. Heading into 2024, “Sunshine” has won at 14 of 38 tracks listed on the High Limit Schedule, second only to promotion co-owner Brad Sweet’s 15. The Clauson-Marshall No. 7BC instantly becomes a contender for a valuable High Stakes Charter, awarded to each of the top-five teams in points this year, which will go into effect in 2026.
