Kyle Larson’s Take on SVG’s Performance and Project 91’s Potential

When asked about SVG’s comeback and whether he could replicate his Chicago success at the Indy road course, Kyle Larson expressed his uncertainty.

He admitted that SVG is undoubtedly a talented driver and expects him to be competitive. Kyle mentioned, ?I don?t know I would not expect him to do that [what he did at Chicago], I think he?s going to be really good.?

Larson believes that seasoned road racers like AJ Allmendinger, Tyler Reddick, Martin Truex Jr, and Chase Elliott might close the gap on SVG compared to their previous outing in Chicago. However, Larson remains excited about SVG’s return and is eager to see how Project 91 will unfold.

Kyle further emphasized, ?I?m excited that they?re able to get him back in so I don?t think he was scheduled to until this week so yeah it?s pretty neat.?

In Larson’s view, Project 91 is an intriguing and promising initiative. Kyle said, ?Would be pretty awesome project 91 could go oval racing. I think he would enjoy that as well.?

With SVG’s successful debut and his upcoming appearance at the Indy road course, Larson sees the potential for an impressive showing from the Australian contingent. He acknowledges that SVG’s unexpected triumph in Chicago proves that anything can happen in racing, and he is looking forward to the competition heating up even further.

Kyle Busch, another prominent NASCAR figure, shared his thoughts on SVG’s chances at the Indy road course. According to Busch, SVG is the favorite going into the race, given his exceptional performance in Chicago, where he outpaced the field. However, Busch anticipates tighter competition this time around, with the rest of the drivers knowing SVG’s supremacy.

In a Pre-Race Press Conference at Pocono, Busch said, ?I would say going into Indy we should all be within two to three-tenths, but he will still be the best guy.?

In addition to SVG, Brodie Kostecki will make a one-off appearance with Richard Childress Racing at the road course. Busch believes that Kostecki and other Australian drivers have a strong understanding of stock car racing and the nuances of road courses. He expects Kostecki to put up a competitive showing and considers the opportunity to learn from the Australian drivers during simulator sessions a valuable experience for all.

Busch said, ?I think those guys are all very good at what they do? and also said, ?Hopefully, I can lean on him and learn a lot from him and have some time in the sim and stuff like that with him?
