Tony Stewart has been undeniably one of the finest NASCAR drivers. But, his anger is also unquestionable and unpredictable at times. The Stewart-Haas Racing team co-owner has been involved in several trackside fist-fights springing out of engagements on track. However, this one time, things kind of got a little out of hand for Stewart while he was in Australia. At the end of the day, his anger got him straight into jail for a night.
During a recent appearance on the “Stacking Pennies with Corey LaJoie” podcast, Kyle Larson was asked about the incident in Australia involving Stewart. Soon, everyone burst out laughing when Larson explained the situation.

LaJoie asked, “Didn’t Tony get himself in a bit of trouble?” Larson responded, “He punched the water truck guy.” Then another person mentioned, “It was my first week I started at Stewart-Haas, working for him. They were like yeah, Tony’s in jail in Australia. Yeah, he punched a guy.”

Tony Stewart actually had a full-blown fist-fight with the track owner
It wasn’t exactly the water truck guy, who Stewart got into an altercation with. Instead, it was the track owner itself. Stewart had gone for a vacation to Australia, where he was also supposed to race in a dirt race. However, when he reached Parramatta City Speedway, he found that the track was still wet from a recent spell of rain. The tensions began after the organizers gave a go-ahead despite the damp conditions.

Stewart apparently had an argument with the co-owner of the track, Brett Morris. But soon things took a violent turn after Stewart decided throwing his helmet at him would prove his point. What he did not anticipate was the man to retaliate. Soon, the pair engaged each other in a full-blown trackside boxing match. Both men squabbled until they had managed to injure each other pretty well.
