The 2024 Pennzoil 400 unfolded at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday. NASCAR drivers experienced tough competition, and among some of the few notable performances today, Kyle Larson‘s impressive qualifying speed made it to a remarkable win on the 1.5-mile-long tri-oval asphalt track. The 31-year-old racing sensation, with his 10th win driving for Hendrick Motorsports, made it to the team’s history book, securing an opening victory at the race.
Larson’s win in Las Vegas marked a new milestone for the team. Additionally, the Sin City win also labeled Kyle Larson as the fastest driver to secure his first victory for Hendrick Motorsports.

While Kyle Larson achieved his 24th career victory, Hendrick Motorsports hit the 100-stage victory mark in Las Vegas. Following this win at the Pennzoil 400, Hendrick Motorsports took to their Twitter handle and shared a picture of the winning car. Kyle Larson dominated at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway by winning Stage 1, and Stage 2 of the Pennzoil 400 on Sunday. Behind the wheels of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, the driver led 68 of the 80 laps in the first stage, beating Tyler Reddick by 0.8 seconds.
Larson, who started second behind pole-sitter Joey Logano, quickly took the lead on the first lap and never looked back. He continued with a comfortable gap over the rest of the field, while Reddick made his way from 18th to second in the No. 45 Toyota for 23XI Racing.
The track witnessed a fierce battle between the two Kyle’s, as Kyle Busch challenged Larson for the lead several times, but could not complete the pass. Busch, who was racing in his hometown, finished third in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, followed by Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin. Kyle Larson, having clinched his first win of the 2024 season, is now eyeing a new challenge.

Larson, known for dominating the NASCAR ovals and dirt tracks, is now gearing up for open-wheel racing. The NASCAR driver is attempting to compete in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. This is an ambitious feat and is termed the “Hendrick 1100” project.
The project is a collaboration between Hendrick Motorsports, Arrow McLaren, and HendrickCars.com. Additionally, the Hendrick 1100 project is also a fan-centric celebration, with special events, crossover merchandise, behind-the-scenes content, and more surprises.
The 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 26, 2024, followed by the Coca-Cola 600 later that evening. Kyle Larson will drive the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Arrow McLaren Chevrolet in the Indy 500, co-owned by Rick Hendrick and McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown. Larson will then fly to Charlotte Motor Speedway to pilot the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Hendrick 1100 Chevrolet Camaro in the Coca-Cola 600, NASCAR’s longest race.
