Kyle Larson Backed to Leave Hendrick Motorsports for Michael Jordan’s NASCAR Team After His Comments on Denny Hamlin

Without a doubt, Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin are two of the biggest brand ambassadors of the NASCAR brand in the new world today. The Hendrick Motorsports driver is a once-in-a-generation talent while the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has carved out a career that has seen him enter the bracket of a modern-day legend.

Along with that, Hamlin has also started his own race team with Michael Jordan, which, fairly speaking, is doing well; because just look at Brad Keselowski.

Anyway, Larson too recently commended his good friend and fellow driver’s commitment to his race team ahead of the first playoff race at Darlington.

“He’s very dedicated. I love to see his dedication to his race team because I wasn’t sure how that would be when he announced he would be a team owner. I thought it was just his name, but he is definitely two feet deep into being a team owner,” Larson said. “I think that’s great. I think that’s gonna be good for his race team in the future.”

“He’ll be a team owner that’d be around for a long time.”

This not only attracted Denny Hamlin’s attention to Larson’s interview as the 23XI Racing boss replied with a hilarious GIF, but it also led to some NASCAR fans suggesting the possibility of Larson being a future driver for the Hamlin-Jordan enterprise.

Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin had very different races in Darlington

In the first playoff race of the season, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson had quite different races not just in terms of the result, but how they got to it as well.

While on one hand, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver came really close to winning and passing Erik Jones in the last few seconds of the race, he ultimately couldn’t and finished in 2nd place.

Even though a second-place finish wasn’t what he would’ve hoped for, Hamlin had the consolation of being praised by NASCAR fans for his display of clean and respectable driving against Jones.

On the other hand, Kyle Larson had a less-than-ideal race and finish for the second year in a row.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver started in a good spot, but a problem under the hood of his #5 Chevy Camaro forced him way back into the field.

However, unlike last year, the defending Cup Series champion managed a finish better than 36th place as this time around, Larson almost climbed into the Top 10s from the back as he finished in 12th.
