In 2021, William Byron enjoyed one of his most successful NASCAR seasons. Despite finishing in the Top 10 and coming away with his second career win, Byron knows that there is still scope for improvement. One of the biggest ways to do this is to try and race more often. In light of this, teammate and reigning champion Kyle Larson will be hoping to help him in that aspect.

Larson said, “He’s an amazing racecar driver. I get to see how dedicated he is to getting better. He puts in more effort than anybody I’ve ever seen. I feel like if he did try (a midget car), he would jump in headfirst at it and really try to get good at it, and I believe he would get good at it. Who knows, someday you may see him in a car.”
In response, Byron expressed interest in trying his hand outside the NASCAR arena. The #24 driver has insisted that he and the team have a lot of hunger and motivation to get better. When the season finale wrapped up, he did not feel like he was ready to relax and go into a vacation mood. Instead, he still felt like racing even more.

Kyle Larson hopes that Byron will follow in Chase Elliott’s footsteps
For the moment, Byron is content with doing a lot of karting. Recently, he was at the Go-Pro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina for an event with IndyCar driver, Will Power. While he is not interested in competing in big races, he is more than happy to just race in go karts.
Owing to this, reigning Cup champion Kyle Larson will be eager to convince Byron to race a midget car on dirt. If he does, he will be able to join the likes of Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott. Both Bowman and Elliott are familiar with the dirt racing scene.
