Did Samantha tame the 'Rowdy' Kyle Busch, or was it just time for a change?

Kyle Busch had built quite a reputation for himself, didn’t he? The Nevada native is considered to be the biggest NASCAR villain of his time, known for engaging in scuffles both on and off the track. Busch’s attitude didn’t win over fans, who booed him practically every week after he made his full-time Cup Series debut in 2005. However, underneath the ‘bad boy’ exterior that Rowdy had built for himself, the racing driver had another side to him that didn’t come to the forefront until 2007.

That’s when he met his future wife, Samantha Sarcinella. Recalling the chance encounter and reflecting on their journey since then, the lifestyle blogger took to Instagram to share a peek into their love story right from the beginning.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway will always hold a special place in the hearts of Samantha and Kyle Busch. After all, that’s the racetrack where the two met for the first time. At that time, Sarcinella was responsible for checking fan credentials for ride-a-longs before the race took place, after which she was invited to take a ride around the racetrack. As luck would have it, she was paired with Kyle Busch, who was driving for Hendrick Motorsports at that time, and the two struck up a conversation.

Recalling the memorable day, Samantha Busch shared on her Instagram story uploaded on the 5th of October, “My first NASCAR race was when I met Kyle. I was a junior in college, I worked for a promo agency and they would send us to Chicago or Indy for all sorts of events. It was my first day, first time at a race. I was hired out by Chevy and there was a group of 75 of us. All had different things to do.” She went on to say, “But Kyle and I met that day and then when I found out about him later, who he was and what he did, I was like, you know, with the name like Rowdy, and he was like a bad boy. I was like, ‘Oh I don’t know how this is going to go for me.”

Samantha also recalled being invited to a race by Kyle Busch, but given his ‘bad boy’ reputation, she chose Texas in case “S**t hit the fan” as that’s where her mother’s best friend resided. As it turns out, it went better than either of them would have expected. After two-and-a-half years of courtship, Samantha and Kyle Busch got engaged before the race at Daytona International Speedway and tied the knot on New Year’s Eve in 2010.

The couple were forced to begin their relationship over long distances because of Rowdy’s demands as a Cup Series driver. In an era where social media didn’t exist, Samantha and Kyle Busch remained in contact through email and phone calls for months on end, choosing to stand by each other despite the obstacles. Their patience paid off, and the relationship has evolved into a full-fledged family since then, with the couple sharing two children, Brexton and Lennix.

Who would have thought that Kyle Busch of all drivers would feel intimidated? Rowdy’s cocky attitude and aggressive driving style have made plenty of enemies in the past, most notably during his infamous feud with Kevin Harvick. However, when it comes to Samantha Sarcinella, the Nevada native couldn’t keep up with his ‘bad boy’ image when they first met and was uncharacteristically shy in her presence. Instead of speaking to her himself, Busch asked his P.R. lady to approach Sarcinella at Indianapolis to offer her a ride-a-long and wasn’t very talkative around her.

Recalling the encounter, Samantha Busch said, “I did most of the talking, big surprise, and then invited him to hang out with a group of us going out that night to which he declined bc he had to work. Little did I know he had a truck race. So I thought that was the end of that until Mr. Shy had someone ask me for my number.”

Meanwhile, she is also raising two kids while pursuing her passion for blogging, where she writes about fashion, parenting tips, fitness, and diet, amongst other topics. In many ways, both the couple have made a positive impact on each other and appear to be a match made in heaven.
