Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha are on a vacation in Italy as the NASCAR season has come to a two-week standstill for the Olympics. The vacation has allowed Samantha to visit her father’s hometown, as well as explore the country and enjoy the local Italian cuisine. During her vacation, Samantha Busch uploaded a series of Instagram stories, in which her family was being forced to climb stairs in search of cocktails in Positano, a village overlooking the cliffside on southern Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

With four races remaining until the regular season ends, Kyle Busch would have been hoping to get some rest before NASCAR action resumes at Richmond Raceway. However, it appears that his trip isn’t as relaxing as he might have hoped if Samantha Busch’s Instagram stories are anything to go by.

It seems like the Busch family is making the most out of their Italian getaway. Kyle, along with Samantha Busch and their two children, Brexton Locke and Lennix Key have been seen enjoying the many things ‘Lo Stivale’ has to offer. Now, it appears that Samantha Busch’s parents have also joined in, as they were featured in her Instagram stories when the family were on the lookout for cocktails in Positano. Unfortunately for the family, the cliffside village is known for many stairs, which was proving to be an exhausting experience, particularly for Samantha’s parents.

Speaking on her Instagram stories uploaded on August 2, 2024, Samantha Busch said, “Well, now I’m dragging everybody up to go get cocktails. But we didn’t tell Mom and Pops that this is what Positano looks like. Stairs, stairs, and more stairs.” Looking at Kyle Busch and her parents’ exhausted expression, she went on to say, “Come on guys, we’re just getting a drink. Let’s go”. In one of the subsequent Instagram stories, a thoroughly amused Samantha Busch said, “According to my dad, I’m going to kill my parents in Italy for an apparel spritz by all these stairs.”

Going by her updates, the family did eventually find a place for cocktails, but the pursuit resulted in Samantha Busch clocking in 20,257 steps. Samantha, who is a fashion designer and lifestyle blogger, has been turning heads with her outfits in Italy. Her social media updates also indicate that she is thoroughly enjoying the local cuisine, having posted a series of reels that show the family enjoying rustic Italian food and a variety of desserts.

As for Kyle Busch, the 39-year-old is having one of the worst seasons in his NASCAR career. The Richard Childress Racing driver hasn’t won a race all season, and with just four regular-season races to go, there is a good chance that he won’t. Currently ranked 18th in the driver standings, Busch has five DNFs in 22 races, with two top-five and six top-ten results so far.

With the season resuming at Richmond Raceway, Rowdy will hope that a trip to Italy will rejuvenate him to turn his season around. However, going by Samantha Busch’s updates, it seems like their trip is far from relaxing.

It seems like searching for cocktails wasn’t the only time Kyle and Samantha Busch were forced to climb the stairs in Italy. As part of their ‘relaxing’ vacation, the couple were seen attempting an exhausting hike along with their son Brexton Locke. The trek, known as the ‘Path of Gods,’ starts in a small village in the mountains and takes you down to the coastal town of Positano.

Narrating the decision to undertake this long, but beautiful, hike, Samantha Busch said in her Instagram story, “So you have two options when you do Path of the Gods hike- They’ll either drop you off at the top and you meander down. Or if you’re like me you choose the other route which is 1500 stairs up and then meander down. Last night after a bottle of wine stairs sounded like a really good option. At this hour it’s iffy.”

In her follow-up stories, Samantha updated the viewers that the hike had 1800 stairs instead of 1500. Meanwhile, Kyle Busch, with an expression of frustration that we have seen all too often this season, went on to say, “Yeah, Path to the Gods! By the time I get there, I’ll be dead.” It seems like Rowdy can’t catch a break this year, even when he’s on vacation. At least he can take solace in the fact that by the time the NASCAR season resumes, the 39-year-old will be in much better shape.
