Apart from some action in stage 3, most of the race at the Atlanta Speedway was pretty clean. However, many people still did not find the race much entertaining. For a long time now, fans have been urging NASCAR to reconsider restrictor plate racing in the series. And now, it looks like Kyle Busch‘s wife Samantha also agrees with them.
NASCAR’s restrictor-plate tracks unarguably host one of the most dangerous races in the series. Hence, even after a mostly clean and safe race at Atlanta, a major car crash during the last stage affected several contenders on Sunday. When Kevin Harvick’s #4 Ford broke loose from the lead with Ross Chastain, multiple cars stacked up behind him.
Vehicles of drivers like William Byron, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch, and Josh Berry got collected in the wreck. But fortunately, none of them were injured.

Samantha Busch agrees that plate racing is stupid
On her Instagram post about Sunday’s race at Atlanta, one of the NASCAR fans commented on how plate racing isn’t the best aspect of NASCAR. Happy that Kyle Busch ended the race safely, a user wrote, “Finished in one piece too. Plate racing is STOOOPID.”
And surprisingly, Samantha Busch responded to the NASCAR fan’s comment by agreeing that even she isn’t a fan of plate racing. She wrote, “ya it’s not my fav either.”
Explaining how scary plate racing might get, the Instagram user further told Samantha, “Can’t imagine having a husband, wife, or child out there. Gotta be be total nightmare.”

For the uninitiated, as dknation.draftkings.com defines it, a plate is something “placed over the engine intake to control the amount of air available to the engine. By controlling the flow of air the power in the car is limited and thus drives down the speed in the car. NASCAR implemented the use of restrictor plates at superspeedways (tracks over 2 miles long) in 1988, after a couple of horrific wrecks at these track types”
