This year, a new media venture gave wings to NASCAR as a whole. Mostly limited to an American audience, the sport took a global step with ‘NASCAR: Full Speed’. The show delved into the inner chambers, offering us sneak peeks into drivers’ personal and professional lives. However, the show had precedents.
A reality show called ‘Racing Wives’ portrayed another crucial, well-hidden aspect of the racing world. The women of NASCAR were the prime focus of this show and included Kyle Busch’s better half as well. But Samantha Busch recently divulged her criticism of the docuseries.

Kyle Busch’s wife opens up about the TV show
Released in 2019, ‘Racing Wives’ was a close echo of ‘The Real Housewives’ franchise except for the racetrack flavor. The unscripted drama threw the spotlight on NASCAR’s women and depicted how the women balanced friendships, family, businesses, and, of course, racing. Yet Samantha Busch recently revealed that the show significantly abandoned its main purpose – lending the wives a voice.
Kyle Busch’s better half posted her opinion in response to a fan question on Instagram. Working behind the camera for Samantha was exciting, as she mentioned: “It was fun experience overall and I feel that I learned a lot and got to experience some amazing things bc of it.”
But then Racing Wives lacked the genuine element, and Kyle Busch and others’ wives were eventually deprived of a candid platform. Samantha confessed: “I just wish it was less reality tv “drama” and they followed more of the real drama that’s constant in our lives mostly due to crazy race schedules and all that comes with it.”

Indeed, Samantha Busch’s opinion reflects her initial purpose for doing the show. She wanted to highlight the fertility struggles that clouded her and Kyle Busch’s lives. The power couple struggled to conceive since their marriage in 2010. Eventually, IVF treatments gifted them their son Brexton in 2015, and then a surrogate bore their daughter, Lennix. This side of NASCAR’s celebrities’ lives is rarely explored in the high-speed, rubber-burning world of racing.

Working with the REACH Clinic of Charlotte, the Busch couple used this fund to relieve couples of fertility struggles. Samantha Busch aptly revealed her emotions for undertaking this noble venture. “Going through this process was really a learning experience for both of us, and we know first-hand the frustration and anxiety couples with infertility issues go through trying to start a family. We realized through this journey that perhaps the reason for it was so we could help other couples who cannot afford the treatments for a miracle baby of their own.”
Evidently, ‘Racing Wives’ could not do justice to Kyle Busch and Samantha’s inspiring personal struggles.
