That Kyle Busch is one of the most honest, one of the most I-don’t-care-what-you-think-I’ll-say-how-I-feel drivers there ever has been in the history of the sport, is a well-known fact. However, this very thing has also landed him in trouble a lot during his career.

More recently, it was his comments regarding his uncertain future at Joe Gibbs Racing that earned him a lot of flak and criticism.

NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin had called his comments, “terrible” and “negative“, comments that showed a lack of thankfulness and gratitude towards his team and his sponsors.

But at the same time, it is his outspoken and candid behavior that makes him who he is as Xfinity Series driver AJ Allmendinger recently made a case for the Candy Man.

“We shouldn’t ever be shocked by Kyle Busch’s comments. This is what I love about Kyle. This is what people ask me, ‘What’s Kyle like?’ I was like, ‘I love Kyle Busch. Because he is real,'” he said.

“He is not always the most pleasant,” Allmendinger continued. “If I call him and ask him a question about how to drive a racecar, he’ll give me detailed answers as long as I want him.”

“But he’s also who he is. You know if he’s not happy, or there’s something on his mind, or something you don’t wanna talk about then he’ll make sure he says how he feels about it.”

Kyle Busch is “one of the best” in the history of NASCAR

AJ Allmendinger went on to shower Kyle Busch with some pretty hefty words, words that aren’t only flowery, but words that carry just as much substance.

“Kyle Busch is one of the best there’s ever been. Not in our generation, not in the Cup Series or Xfinity, the best we’ve ever seen in NASCAR. That’s why you have that many wins,” he said.

“I don’t care if some of them are Truck wins, some of them are Xfinity wins, he’s one of the best drivers we’ve ever seen,” Allmendinger continued.
