Kyle Busch is back to Hendrick Motorsports! Not as a driver, though, as a guest in the HMS Homecoming. The event will be held on May 24 and 25, 2024, to celebrate HMS’ 40th anniversary in NASCAR. Busch will be present for the meet and autograph session on the last day of the event. The event is likely to evoke a sense of nostalgia for Rowdy, who was once a part of the organization. As soon as the news broke out, fans went gaga over the internet, hinting at a return of the RCR star to the North Carolina-based side.
Kyle Busch at HMS 40!
Kyle Busch’s “homecoming” displays HMS’ and Rick Hendrick’s professionalism. Even when they decide to part ways with a driver, they do it respectfully and appreciate their bond throughout. Time and again, they have proved this principle. Notably, Busch was a part of HMS for a couple of seasons, from 2005 to 2007. While there was no scope to deny his talents, Hendrick decided to let him go. It was specifically because he felt Busch was not the right fit at that moment.

Other former drivers who would join the autograph sessions are the legendary Jeff Gordon and Ricky Craven. Apart from that, the current squad will be there too, with the likes of William Byron, Chase Elliott, and Alex Bowman. No. 5 and the Cup Series table topper for the season, Kyle Larson, will not be able to attend. He will be scheduled for his IndyCar event Indianapolis 500.
Rowdy’s possible return to HMS, Bowman to be the scapegoat?

The speculation of Alex Bowman getting removed from this high-performing star-studded team has been going on for a long time. Despite racing pretty well, he is not able to win races. His last win came at Las Vegas in 2021. While the rest of his teammates dominate the Cup Series, Bowman is falling behind. Due to this very reason, when HMS announced Kyle Busch’s return to an HMS, all fans could think of was a possible replacement for Bowman’s #48 car.
A fan commented, “Get Kyle back in a car! This is where he belongs!!”
