Whether it was a crash at Gateway due to aggressive driving, a mechanical failure at Iowa, or the poor weather forcing a crash in New Hampshire, he has seen it all. Kyle Busch simply cannot catch a break. After a miserable season so far in the NASCAR Cup Series, he endured yet another bad day at the Nashville Superspeedway. He finished 27th. So far, the driver has finished 27th or worse in five out of his last seven races.

He is 104 points away from the playoff cutline, which puts him in a difficult situation. If he wants to go for a third series title, he needs to rake wins. Clearly, Rowdy and Lady Luck haven’t been the best of friends this season. These repetitive setbacks have pushed the driver to his boiling point and now, his wife finally broke her silence. What did she say?

The last thing Kyle Busch needed this season was another DNF. As luck would have had it, that’s exactly what happened. It was his fourth such result in the last five races and another case of so close yet so far. Rowdy was in prime position to finish in the top five and perhaps even get his first win of the season. And then his luck ran out. With not one but two wrecks in overtime, Kyle Busch finished the race in the same position he started- 27th.

Expressing sympathy for her husband’s miserable luck at Nashville Superspeedway, Samatha Busch blamed the timing. She wrote on X, “Ughhhhhhhhhh quote of the day from tv, “If someone was gonna wreck it was gonna happen right in front of Kyle Busch.” 😭😭😭.” Following up on her tweet, she posted another tweet where she wrote, “I can’t with this year. 😡,” expressing her unhappiness at not just how the race turned out to be but for Rowdy’s season so far.

But what really took place? Well, Busch had nowhere to move when Kyle Larson ran out of fuel. He was right behind Larson and this caused a wreck. Busch was disappointed about the race and even stated, “It’s frustrating for sure, but we’ll bounce back next week in Chicago.”

If the last few months are anything to go by, it doesn’t look like Kyle Busch’s team has what it takes to win a race this season. In an interview with Bob Pockrass, the driver said, “We just have to stop the bleeding. I think I’ve been saying that for the last six months, so it hasn’t stopped. In the last week, it’s been gushing pretty hard.

However, as things stand, each race is bringing about a new low, and every new setback is opening up a different wound that the team must heal from before the playoffs begin.

Murphy’s Law: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Isn’t that the case with Busch? His No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro has struggled with speed and handling, and Andy Petree has retired as competition director for Richard Childress Racing. Rowdy will be asking himself some big questions before NASCAR shifts its attention to the Chicago Street Course. The main question is, will his team pull itself together before the playoffs?

Having begun the race in P27, Kyle Busch and his No. 8 Richard Childress team knew they would need to have the perfect strategy, combined with a lightning-quick pace to get a result at Nashville Speedway. However, things couldn’t have started worse for Busch.

He overshot his stall on the first green flag pit stop of the afternoon. This put him in an even worse position than when he started and was heard over the radio, saying, “This is complete garbage,” referring to the way his Chevrolet Camaro handled.

However, the team picked itself up after the initial setback, made adjustments to his car to improve handling, employed a smart pit strategy, and enjoyed some luck from cautions to get Rowdy up to P4. However, as luck would have had it, the race had five overtimes, during which time Kyle Busch was involved in two wrecks.

The first one was when Ross Chastain restarted on the front row with Denny Hamlin, while Kyle Larson, riding at the back of Hamlin’s bumper, got loose. As a result, Larson sent Chastain to the wall, and Busch was caught in the crossfire.

After a couple of restarts, fuel became a major issue for many drivers and that’s how the second wreck place. That was the beginning of an end to Busch’s race at Nashville Superspeedway, as the field shuffled with drivers and teams, changing their race strategy based on fuel.

It was yet another DNF for Rowdy, but the 39-year-old didn’t lose his sense of humor, bowing to the crowd after exiting the vehicle for the day. Do you think Kyle Busch will turn his season around? Let us know in the comments!
