Kyle Busch has had an inspiring 20-year-long NASCAR journey with over 600 Cup Series races under his belt, earning himself legendary status in the sport. However, the two-time Cup Series champ is also infamous for losing his calm on numerous occasions throughout the course of his career. As a result, the 37-year-old has often found himself amid many controversies and rivalries over the years. One such feud of Busch, involving Dale Earnhardt Jr lasted almost a decade. Despite that feud, Dale Jr. took the high road and agreed to be part of ‘Rowdy‘; something three other ex-rivals refused.

In a recent interview with Awfully Announcing, Daugherty talked about the role of Busch’s old rival Dale Earnhardt Jr in the documentary and commended the two-time Busch Series champ for being supportive.
He said, “You know, and the funny thing about Junior is if you met him probably 20 years ago, he was a shy, shy guy, you know, he wouldn’t. But he’s turned it around, he’s amazing. You know, he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. He does tell it how it is.”
Kyle Busch’s confidant shared that he instructed Dale Jr. ‘to be as honest as possible’ during his interviews for the documentary. Derek Daugherty also assured the two-time Daytona 500 winner that he would try to get other rival drivers of Kyle Busch to do the same. Unfortunately, these racers did not follow in the footsteps of Dale Earnhardt Jr.
