Kyle Busch was once asked if someone gave him $5 million to design a track of his own choice without any budgetary restrictions, what type of track would he prefer to design.
Busch answered, “So what would I do if I was going to build a racetrack, essentially? Hmm. I like road-course racing. I think we could have some more road courses. That would be fun. I hear a lot of people who say they enjoy watching the road course races over the ovals. Why? I don’t know. But I think we’ve got plenty of oval tracks, so I’d build a road course.”

Considering that this interview was from nearly a decade ago, it might be possible that the Joe Gibbs Racing driver might have a change of thoughts. There’s also the known fact that most true NASCAR fans usually dislike the road course format of racing. Multiple people argue that road racing events have often times yielded dull and uninteresting racing in comparison to the action-packed races at oval tracks.

Kyle Busch’s future with Joe Gibbs Racing came under speculation after his major sponsor M&M declared that they wished to leave the sport from next season onwards. Since then, Toyota and Joe Gibbs Racing have been trying hard to find a sponsor replacement, but without any luck.
However, recently, Busch revealed that while his option to stay with JGR is still open, he has been talking to other teams as well. During a media conference, the two-time Cup Champion stated, “I don’t feel like it’s fair to me or my family or anything else if we’re going to have to spend less time together moving forward because we are going to have to change our lifestyle, no questions. There’s a big change coming.”
