William Byron, who started off his career in 2015 with Kyle Busch Motorsports, did not just win this past Sunday’s race, he managed to get a 3rd win this season. In doing so, he earned the praise of NASCAR’s ‘Rowdy’.

Following his outstanding performance at Darlington, the Hendrick Motorsports driver came out on top despite the race being riddled with caution. The HMS speedster showed exceptional skill and grit as he fought his way out of the pileup that destroyed 6 race cars.
Seeing this, Richard Childress Racing driver, Busch, was in all praise for his former driver. The 25-year-old has taken the community by storm with his talent behind the wheel. Moreover, it was in KBM that Byron found his current Hendrick crew chief before he moved to JR Motorsports in 2017.
After clearing out the Xfinity Series and Truck Series, the #24 driver is now eyeing the coveted Cup Series championship. Reacting to his outstanding performance, his former boss was asked, “Fair to consider the new face of the No. 24 Chevrolet a championship threat?”
To this, as per NASCAR.com, Busch gave a straight answer, saying, “Yeah, I mean, you’d have to.” Furthermore, the #8 driver went on to laud the youngster.
“All of his wins have been pretty diverse at all different race tracks, you know?” said KB. “He’s done a great job at driving all the stuff that he’s driven. He’s been in good stuff the entire time, but he’s made the most of that as well,” he added.
HMS fans were in for a banger as Byron got his 3rd win of the season while racking up his 7th career win. Goodyear 400 was definitely a bumpy ride, even NASCAR veteran and Busch’s former adversary Martin Truex Jr found it difficult to cope with the frantic pace of the race as he crashed out despite leading the lap for almost 140 laps while taking 7 other cars with him.

Despite being just a few meters away from the pile-up, the #24 driver pulled off a great move, sticking to the inside of the track, and waited for the wreck to clear.
In case you are unaware, Byron has come all the way here, starting from the iRacing and simulators. He progressed into real racing with legend cars, late models, and ARCA Menards Series before making his way to the national scene.
He used his experience when the Chastain-Larson altercation happened on the track. Byron quickly cleared the commotion to find himself ahead of the pack.
