This year could not grow any worse for Kyle Busch. Although the No. 8 RCR driver has fetched two top-fives and four top-tens so far, they barely hold a candle to his past. Busch owns 63 Cup Series wins, and 231 wins across all three NASCAR series, the highest of all time. In comparison to his yesteryears, this season is going miserably.
Compounding the drab streak is his current absence from the playoff list. This dire result came from Busch’s face-off with Kyle Larson at the Gateway race. Despite his situation, our winningest driver is achieving satisfaction from another avenue. After Kyle Busch’s two major ownerships fizzled out, he is looking forward to a new investment now.

Over the turn of 2024, Kyle Busch let go of his two major brand names. He had started Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2010, as a fledgling Craftsman Truck Series team. It grew to clinch 100 wins and two championships and trained present-day stars like William Byron. Yet Kyle Busch had to bid adieu to his stellar team as he sold it to Spire Motorsports in September 2023. Then in January, Busch let go of his energy drink brand, Rowdy Energy.
Now our Rowdy driver is back with another investment plan. Dennis and Co. Auto Group partnered with Kyle Busch and recently purchased a Chevrolet store in New Jersey. Hawthorne Chevrolet, nearly 100 years old, had a slew of long-term employees. With four people having 40 decades of experience and 10 others over 30, Brian Dennis is thrilled with the acquisition: “It’s quite a dealership…For 97 years, Hawthorne Chevy has provided generations of customers with value-driven sales and service.”

Kyle Busch is equally glad to be a part of this ownership. Owning an undisclosed financial stake in the Chevy store, the acquisition marks his entry into automotive retail. “My longtime association with motorsports has given me a deep appreciation of the importance of a total team effort,” Busch said in a statement. He added, “I am excited to establish this partnership with Brian and the Dennis & Co. team, and I’m eager to embrace this opportunity. Meeting our many customers and fans makes me proud to be a member of the Hawthorne Chevy family.”
Dennis and Co. CEO Brian Dennis acknowledged his partner’s tremendous potential in boosting the store. Dennis also noted Kyle Busch’s leaning on one car manufacturer.

For 15 years before 2023, Kyle Busch was part of the Joe Gibbs Racing fold. Driving the No. 18 Toyota, he notched most of his Cup victories under JGR. However, after joining Richard Childress Racing, he upheld the Chevrolet banner from 2023. Although KBM still competed under Toyota last year, Busch had intended to swap the Truck Series manufacturers to Chevrolet.
Kyle Busch honored his affiliation with Chevy in his latest acquisition as well. Owning a store that sells Chevrolet cars is testimony in itself, and Busch’s partner also noted the added importance the driver gave to the brand name. “He has a genuine interest in the brand. He drives for Chevy and that was very important to him when we connected.” Dennis added: “The alignment with Chevrolet-with Kyle driving the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the NASCAR Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing-made the partnership even more exciting.”

Dennis also showered appreciation for Kyle Busch’s on-track and off-track talents. “The partnership with Kyle Busch is a natural. His commitment to family, excellence, and performance aligns perfectly with the beliefs that drive the growth of our dealership group.”
As Kyle Busch soars high in his ownership ambitions, hopefully, he will also grow wings in his Cup Series pursuits soon.
