For the past week or so, all that anybody can talk about in the NASCAR world is the Kevin Harvick-Chase Elliott feud. Everything kicked off at the Bristol Motor Speedway, and things escalated at the Charlotte Roval. Now, the NASCAR officials decided to try and smooth things over between the two parties, and one person in the intervention was Kyle Busch.

According to Jenna Fryer, NASCAR officials met with all parties in the Harvick-Elliott feud. After a lengthy conversation, they warned of serious consequences should the feud continue. As per initial reports, there were six people on the call; however, one appeared to spill the beans on the talks. Busch quipped, “Well we now know that at least 1 of those 6 people has loose lips.”

As mentioned before, the whole saga began at the Bristol Motor Speedway. The two of them traded paint in the closing laps of the race. This compromised both their races, though Elliott came off as the loser in 25th place and Kevin Harvick was second. Three races later at Bristol, Chase Elliott got his revenge, as the Stewart-Haas driver crashed out.

It didn’t help matters that Elliott cheekily wished Harvick a ‘merry off-season and a happy Christmas’. Owing to this, NASCAR obviously felt that it was time to sit the two of them down before things escalated. Obviously, the two of them were still playing the blame game. However, Elliott cannot afford to get sucked into a feud at a critical stage in the season.

Harvick has an excuse because he is no longer in the title fight. Chase Elliott, on the other hand, needs to move on from this feud and bury the hatchet, or it will adversely affect his challenge. To be precise, if he is too busy trying to exact revenge on Kevin Harvick and extending their vendetta, other drivers will take advantage. This is obviously no skin off Kyle Busch’s nose, as he would be only too glad to see Elliott distracted.
