What is the probability that a person gains wisdom with growing age? The answer is highly debatable. Even Taylor Swift was skeptical about this correlation. And thus her lyrics, “I have this thing where I get older but never wiser.” Now, it seems Kyle Busch thinks along the same lines as well. And is evident in his recent Instagram story.

Kyle Busch took to Instagram in order to wish his teammate and boss’ grandson, Austin Dillon. The #3 Richard Childress Racing turned 33 on April 27.

The Instagram story posted by Kyle flaunted him, along with the birthday boy with the captions, “Happy Birthday @AUSTINDILLON3.” The #8 driver then went for a humorous dig at the #3 driver. He wrote, “Another Year Older, Not Sure About Wiser.” Busch also inserted a wink emoji along with the captions.

Even the RCR fans did not sit back and they joined to wish the 2018 Daytona 500 winner. Twitter saw a flood of tweets wishing Dillon on his big day. They were pretty entertaining.

As far as racing is considered, these two RCR drivers have had a good rapport so far. Their on-field understanding was evident in the Clash and the Daytona 500 races. The two times Cup Series Champion left Joe Gibbs Racing last year after failed sponsorship talks. He officially joined Richard Childress Racing and took over #8 Chevrolet in 2023.

Austin, in an interview with Bob Pockrass, had revealed his excitement about signing Busch. He stated, “I mean, look throughout history about the different drivers that my grandfather’s been able to work with. He knows if Kyle’s upset, we gotta make something better. Something that I hope I can bring to Kyle is calmness, too. Like Hey man, there’s gonna be another race we’re gonna be alright.’ There’s gonna be times when we’re gonna have days that aren’t the best. But more often than not he comes in as a favorite at a lot of these races.

The transition so far has been a smooth one. Whether it’s related to the car or the team. Up to this point, the 37-year-old has survived the race with two wins, the latest being the Talladega. He won in Talladega after 15 years. On the other hand, Dillon limps behind. In the season so far, the #3 has had only two top-ten finishes. And to add to the pain, Dillon is shoved with a heavy penalty. This comes after NASCAR charged them for violating the ‘Underwing Assembly Mounting and Underwing Stay Assembly Hardware.’ He is penalized with 60 points and a fine of $75,000.
