Kyle Busch’s Son, Brexton Throws Shade at the Other Kyle’s Height After Impromptu Seat Time at COTA

Finally, the curtains have fallen on the season’s first road course at the 3.41-mile track at Austin – the Circuit of The Americas. Hendrick Motorsports’ young pride, William Byron, took the victory, establishing himself as a solid championship contender, picking off from where he had left in 2023. However, his teammate Kyle Larson, who won the Xfinity Series race on Saturday, just couldn’t repeat the success on Sunday and had to be content with an 18th place finish.

On the other hand, another Kyle, NASCAR’s “Rowdy” Kyle Busch got a breather, securing a top 10 finish, his second this season. Now coming to the talk of the town, following the highly anticipated race, Busch‘s son and future racer Brexton Busch poked one at Larson as the 8-year-old climbed into the #5 Chevy of the 2021 Cup Series champion.

Brexton Busch has a superior sense of humor

NASCAR’s first road course of the season, the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix went down as a banger of a race, delivering the hype it had built up over the days, turning out to be a stellar race. If the previous few weeks were a masterclass from the Japanese counterparts, the Toyotas, this time the Chevys reigned supreme at the 3.41-mile technical road course. About half of the cars that came across the finish line were Chevrolets, with Byron conquering the track and field picking up another victory while fellow driver Martin Treux Jr occupied the 10th spot. Once the race was flagged off and the field started to grow its fangs, it was apparent that the result would be nothing like we had anticipated.

Especially for Larson fans who anticipated a double win for the #5 driver. Unfortunately for him, he couldn’t get inside the top 10 and instead had to be content with a P18 finish. But what caught the community’s eyes was Busch’s son Brexton Busch’s cheeky move at Larson. Getting inside his HMS Chevy, the young Busch posted a picture of himself inside the car with a sly caption, “I can fit and mash the gas in this Kyle’s seat. Thanks for letting me hop in @KyleLarsonRacin,” subtly mocking his height, all the while thanking him for letting him inside the race car. 

While the the young Busch was having the time of his life, his father’s emotions were quite the contrary despite the top-10 finish.

Kyle Busch’s frustrating day at COTA

If it was his own crew’s incompetency in the pit lane that got the 2-time Cup Series champion further back. And, this time at COTA, bad luck ran its course again on Busch. His former JGR teammate, Christopher Bell was the antagonist, spinning both Larson and Busch one after the other. First, it was Larson who was sent for a spin when the #20 Toyota came in contact with the HMS Chevy in lap 22. Shortly after 20 laps, Bell would do the same to Busch while battling for the fifth position.

If that wasn’t enough, Busch’s #8 RCR was running on an empty stomach as it ran out of fuel. But fortunately, for Busch, his former teammate Martin Truex Jr had his back, pushing the RCR Chevy into the pit lane for it to be refueled, getting the 2-time champion back into the contest.
