The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season has not been the best for Kyle Busch. A driver with a record of at least one victory each season had to bid goodbye to the tracks without a single win. Busch ended up making history, but not in the right way. However, it seems that finally; he has shrugged that misnomer off his shoulders and welcomed a much-anticipated victory.

The Tulsa Shootout began on 31st December and has been undoubtedly lucky for Kyle Busch. This one is an eye-opener for all the critics, who expressed discontent over how Busch has stooped down in history’s performance.

For an accomplished driver like Kyle Busch who boasts of the highest number of wins, it seems this win was long coming. After all, when you have such a glorious history, going completely winless in an entire season does become alarming. Busch’s disappointing 2024 season resulted in a significant amount of criticism. He won titles in 2015 and 2019 and became a 2x NASCAR Cup Series champion. He is 9th on the all-time Cup Series wins list and leads in total wins across NASCAR’s top three divisions.

Busch entered into the race before his Chilli Bowl Nations debut for the year as the 600cc Winged Micro Sprint champion at Millbridge Speedway. In the last season, Busch accounted for four victories at the ⅙ mile dirt track in Salisbury. He repeated history this New Year’s Eve and claimed the victory. Given how he had built his reputation for the last two decades, this victory was the need of the hour.

Giving it back to those who trolled him for the 2024 season, Kyle Busch said, “Yeah, it sure does. I mean they have been doing a really really good job this week and I’ll tell you what man, these cars are so much fun because there is so much power in them…so it was really really ripping. Loved it. All’s good right now. Hopefully, be ready for the qualifier when it comes”.

Top class racers could grace with their presence at Tulsa

Given the event’s magnitude, there will be racers from various domains of motor racing who will take on to the tracks during the entire tenure. Apart from Kyle Busch, NASCAR names like Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell have also made it to the list. The best thing about Larson is the way he adapts to every kind of racing, no matter where you put him. His grip on the car makes him one of the strongest contenders in the game.

In addition, we have the all-time favorite driver, Christopher Bell. Bell has a history with midget and micro-sprint cars since the start of his career. Likewise, being a native of the country, the home-ground advantage suits him perfectly. Back in 2018, Bell had also made it to the victory line further adding to his onus.

Bell said, discussing his Sprint car journey, “This is absolutely incredible. I look back at my Sprint Car career, and I kind of wonder what could’ve been. I never had a prolonged opportunity in a top-tier car. I was always jumping car to car, ride to ride.”

With Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, and Christopher Bell in the mix, Tulsa promises high-octane action, blending versatility, experience, and hometown pride on the dirt track. All eyes will be on this trio as they push the limits in their quest for glory.
