Two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch has had a very dismal season this year. With multiple DNFs and penalties and an average finish of 18.31, he could only bag five Top 5 finishes. However, despite these poor performances, Busch remained optimistic throughout the season and tried to calm himself with his family. Well, his remedy? Busch’s been spending a lot of time with his wife, Samantha Busch, and son, Brexton Busch.
Throughout the season, Rowdy was seen preparing his son for his racing career and even celebrated some [small/big] victories. His dad’s duties even continued amid the ongoing NASCAR off-season. And the Richard Childress Racing driver shared glimpses of his off-season antics.
As the Christmas celebrations took over the entire world, Kyle Busch continued to train with his son Brexton. And, for those who don’t know, Brexton Busch is not new to the racing world. He is the third-generation racing driver currently competing in different junior leagues. In 2024 he has been unstoppable with some amazing victories at the Millbridge Speedway. Since starting his racing journey in 2020, Brexton has amassed more than 60 victories in different states and tournaments.
In 2024 Brexton also won the 2024 Citrus County Winter Nationals Bandit Championship after naming Beginners Bandit in the 2023 season. And, while for the father it’s an off-season, he’s taking full leverage and utilizing this time to prepare his son for the upcoming 39th annual Tulsa Shootout. The tournament will kick off on 31st December 2024 at Tulsa Expo Raceway.

Well, unlike his son, the 2024 season has been a forgettable journey for veteran NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Busch. This was the first season since his debut when Busch failed to take the checkered flag. This also broke his 19-year-long streak of winning at least one race every season.
However, reflecting on his 2024 season, Kyle Busch told NASCAR, “Things changed for me a couple of years ago, and I was grateful to be able to extend the streak last year and make it my own. But honestly, for there being guys that are at 17 (years) and one guy was at 18, and now one guy at 19, it’s hard to put that many good years like that together in a row. It’s difficult.”
Despite this setback, Busch can remain optimistic for the upcoming season. A lot of changes in leadership roles at RCR might help Busch to get back on winning ways. However, one more poor season might also prompt the end of a legendary career. Although, ahead of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series, Busch will be seen participating in the 39th Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. The tournament will run from January 13-18, 2025, at the famed SageNet Center.

Here, Kyle Busch will be challenged by around 300 drivers to win the Super Bowl of midget racing. Notably, he is not the first NASCAR driver who has participated in this prestigious event. He will be following the paths of drivers like Tony Stewart, Kyle Larson, and Christopher Bell.
“The Cup Season may be over, but the Racing season is still in full swing with the biggest events on dirt taking place over the next couple of months. The Chili Bowl is a legendary event and has always been on my wish list. To be able to compete there, and then alongside my son Brexton at the Tulsa Shootout, is making this year one to remember,” Kyle Busch had commented about the event. We wish the father-son duo a year full of wins.
