Chase Elliott is the golden child of NASCAR and Elvis Presley to Dale Earnhardt Jr. There is no denying that Elliott is incredibly famous, and the extent of his fame has brought him the Most Popular Driver award for four years in a row. Well, seems like it’s time for Kyle Busch to snatch that award from him.

Busch just sent out a warning to the 2020 Cup Series Champion. In a recent media conference for the NASCAR Playoffs opener race, the two-time cup series champion joked about winning the most popular driver.

Not far-fetched at all, considering the whole sponsorship saga has really brought Buch into the eyes of the fans. Unfortunately, the eyes of sponsors are still lacking. So, could he dethrone the guy who has won four awards for the most popular driver in a row? It surely will be a big shock to the Stock Car racing world.

Does Kyle Busch have a chance at stealing the award from Chase Elliott?

No one has dethroned Elliott since 2018. In fact, Elliott broke the longest ever most-popular-driver streak in the history of NASCAR, belonging to Dale Earnhardt Jr. Junior was the most popular driver every year from 2003 to his retirement in 2017.

Dale jr sure made a record, but Elliott came in and set his own name in the books. And he also has an upper hand over Busch, being the points leader all season, and the driver with the most wins so far, with 4 race win trophies on his shelf from this season (one of those is a Gibson guitar!). But still, Busch has had eyes on his all season.
