Excited to see the two-time Cup champion behind the #76’s wheel, Overton told FloRacing, “It’s definitely cool. You grow up watching all of these guys. I’ve never met him, so I’m excited for that. I’ve watched him pretty much my whole life.”

Furthermore, Overton shared that he was nervous about Rowdy driving one of his cars. Explaining how he and his team are intent on providing him with the best car on the track, he said, “To say he’s going to be driving one of my race cars… I think I’m going to be more nervous watching him than I am when I’m racing out there.”

“We’re looking forward to it. We’re just going to try to give him a good hot rod.”

It’s true. The news about Kyle Busch embracing a Late Model Challenge might bring back some not-so-cool dirt racing memories for some fans. Back in April 2022, Busch publically stated that the governing body must ‘cut the cord’ when it comes to dirt racing.

During his interview before the dirt race at Bristol, a NASCAR reporter asked Busch about his views on dirt racing and if NASCAR should continue it.

To this, Busch simply replied, “Cut the cord. As Richard Petty said, ‘Dirt takes our sport backwards.”
