Last weekend at the North Wilkesboro Speedway, there was drama after the race. The trigger was an incident on the opening lap where Ricky Stenhouse Jr appeared to push Kyle Busch close to the wall. An enraged Busch then proceeded to punt the #47 driver and end his race prematurely. Immediately after the race, Stenhouse Jr engaged in some malicious compliance by parking his car on Busch’s pit box. Later on he was waiting for the Richard Childress Racing driver by his own trailer.

Once Kyle Busch had wrapped up his race, he and Stenhouse Jr had a post-race confrontation. That soon devolved into an all-out brawl, with their crew members also joining in on the action. One member was RCR’s Justin White, who is practically a tank. As it happened, he took on multiple JTG Daugherty team members and managed to shake them up.

Following the brawl, White became a bit of a viral sensation for taking on and beating multiple opponents. As a result, RCR decided to reward him with a reserved parking spot for him at the team workshop. As he got out of his car and personal parking spot, he simply quipped, “Man! I could get used to this.”

The dogfight definitely went viral, with NASCAR even promoting it a few times on social media. Hypocritically though, Stenhouse Jr and his team were punished for instigating the brawl. Stenhouse Jr copped a hefty fine, while some of his crew members earned suspensions, and finally his father was indefinitely suspended.

Unfortunately for both drivers, there is little benefit in following up, as they cannot afford vengeful attacks. At least they can be thankful that the race at North Wilkesboro was a non-championship race, with neither points or a Playoff berth at stake. On the other end of the spectrum, the race winner would earn $1 million, so there was plenty to play for.

This weekend, the paddock will make landfall at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca Cola 600. The race is expected to conclude a truly action-packed weekend, which boasts of MotoGP, Formula One, IndyCar and NASCAR. So far, Busch has yet to reach Victory Lane, and his Richard Childress Racing team have struggled this season. Now, the 2-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will be aiming to turn his fortunes around.
