The season-long speculation by the NASCAR community about the probable future of the two-time Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch is finally over. Out of all the front-runners for his future, the #18 driver of Joe Gibbs Racing has landed one, eventually.
Richard Childress Racing emerged as the top choice for the 37-year-old with 23XI Racing co-owned by Michael Jordan and somewhat Kaulig Racing on the table for Busch.
Why somewhat Kaulig? If Busch would have moved to Kaulig, it would have brought the KBM owned by Busch to the Chevrolet in the Truck series as there is a lack of presence for the Chevy manufacturer in the series.

In a recent podcast of Stacking Pennies by Corey Lajoie, the NASCAR Cup Series driver talked about the factors that went into consideration for Kyle Busch while choosing RCR as his future NASCAR team.
#7 driver for Spire Motorsports said, “When he’s(Kyle Busch) sitting there with a 23XI option on the table one year option; a multi-year RCR option; a multi-year and potentially some equity colleague. He’s looking at, he’s also…Joey Logano says it later, “Kyle Busch is a very smart dude, outside the car and he is a savant when it comes to making a heavy stock car go fast in a circle. He is unbelievable at that.”
The reason given by Corey in the podcast regarding Kyle’s decision was, “But he’s talking, he’s thinking about crew chief. There’s a reason why he didn’t go to Kaulig because they’re not a key partner. They don’t get the same help from Chevy as RCR does.
“Obviously Randall Burnett and the multiple wins that #8 car has this year and the consistent speed they have factor into his decision.” said #7 driver in the end.
Obviously. the Joe Gibbs Racing took a blow by the decision of the present #18 driver of Toyota. This decision has also led to some consequences for the team Kyle Busch Motorsports owned by Kyle Busch.

As a result of this, talented drivers like Corey Heim, John Hunter Nemechek and Chandler Smith will have to look for new teams as they have contracts with Toyota. To leave Toyota and join Chevy will be another big headache for the three drivers. Rather, they’ll start hunting for new teams.
Also to fill the vacant seats for KBM, Kyle will definitely look under RCR’s home for the upcoming season.
